If the managers of the new opera house would hire special policemen and put them in the gallery to make parties there sit down, take their hats oil and give a semblance of quietness, the audience below would be glad to foot the bid. Friday night last, the gallery audience, or large numbers of them, stood up on the scats, walked around during the most attentive parts f the play, talked out loud, sat on the backs of the seats with their hats 011, and hi ether ways exhibited their ''iirly education, while the hood lums tmt iu their time "tiring'' pro grammes at th! audience. It was broad in extent, rich in thought, scholarly and finished. The world was brought together; the bles sings of nations garnered, and the self evident tiuth of our highest privileges coming from our nation as a Christian nation exemplified. It was a sermon so replete with good, that it should not be confined to church walls and the comparatively few who heard it. The Miln-Burleigh company enter tained the finest audience of the sea sou in the ew opera house last Fri day, t lie -troupe appearing iu Othello, Mr. Buileigh as Othello, and Mr, Miln as Iago.
