The friends of Peter Lancton treated him

occasion of his birthday anniversary, when

A very pleasant surprise party occurred at
the residence of Mrs. James S. Parks, 600
South Nluetenth street, last Saturday afternoon,-the
occasion being Mrs. Parks' birth
day anniversary. A number of friends and
relatives having discovered the date, con
cluded to give her a surprise, so they loaded
themselves with packages and bundles and.

overcome with embarrassment at first but
recovered in time to entertain her guests
