Blake Ott look him to the hospital in Atkin son when he became ill Guy Beckwith, the !* year old grandson of Mr; and Mrs. Ber nard Blaekmore was able to be returned to the Atkinson hospital Friday after being rushed to Om aha following a fall from the pickup from which he received a broken leg. He was placed in a cast and getting along as well as can be expected. Mi and Mrs. Paul Fisher, Glenn White and Rev. Paul An dre attended funeral services for Mrs Oscar Broadbrook, Colome, S. D. Rev. Andre had charge of the services, Mrs. Broadbrook was killed in a car-tractor acci dent a.s they were returning home from church. Rev. Andre, who serves their pastorate, had plan msi 10 stay ovcrnignt wun mem and had reached their home and waited for them to come, think ing tliey might have had car trouble, he went back to help them and came upon the acci dent. Mr. Broadforook was ser iously hurt having both arms and pelvic bone broken. Mrs. Gene Thompson and fam ily enjoyed a visit last week from her sister and family, Mrs. Betty Morris, Dixie, Randy, Daria and Marva, Scottsbluff. Their father, Will Dierks, Atkinson, was an ov ernight visitor. Mr. and Mrs S. C. Barnett and Mrs. Edith Andersen were suj> per guests Friday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn White. The occasion was in honor of Mrs. Barnetts and Mrs. Andersen’s birthday anniversaries. H. S. White and Mrs. Julia White were also guests at the supper. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fisher, Clyde Burge, Mrs. Lindsey and Florence were among the Amelia folks attending the funeral of Myron Benton at Ceder Creek Mission Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Bimbo Maly, Om aha, came Friday and visited until Monday with Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Waldo. Mrs. Frank Searles, Arvada, Colo., came last week to attend the graduation exercises at Cham bers High school. Her grandson, Roger Waldo, was one of the graduates. After the exercises, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Johnson, O' Neill and Mrs. Searles all went HI 1IIV. II'/UIV Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Waldo to vis it. Roger Waldo is working at the Co-op in Chambers this week while Mr. and Mrs. Bill Logeman are on vacation. Mrs Oscar Peterson was a Bur well caller Wednesday. Little Miss Darla Carr and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dary Carr and her sister, Debra, were sup per guests Friday evening with her grandparents, Mr. anil Mrs. John Carr honoring her birthday anniversary. Glen White and Grandpa White spent Wednesday afternoon visit ing Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Barnett. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyer and Beverly, Atkinson, visited the Lindseys a short time Sunday evening. They were enroute home from North Platte where they spent the weekend with their son Kenneth. First Lt. and Mrs. Kenneth Mathews and Becky, Lincoln, and Miss Beth Fullerton were weekend visitors with their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ful lerton. The Mathews are await ing departure orders to be sta tioned in Spain. Lt. Mathews re turned to Lincoln Sunday. Mrs. Mathews and Becky will visit her parents until orders are received. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gruen borg, Linda and Carol, Stuart, were dinner and supper guests Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Fryrear. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith, Atkinson, came in the afternoon and were sup per and evening guests there. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Coolidge and family, Seneca, Kan., Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Ragland, Juanita and Royvan. Page, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Coolidge and Ken neth, Chambers, visited at the Elmer Coolidge home Sunday. Emil Wolfe, Mrs. Oft Dickman and her two grandchildren and George and Barbara Brown. Sar geant, were Sunday dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Dunk Peter son.
