Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sank* re turned to their home at North Platte Wednesday, after a few days visit at the Win. Luben home and with other relatives. Mrs. Howard Luben accompan ied Mr.v M Jacobsen to Grand Island Wednesday where they vis ited Melvin who is a patient in the Veteran’s hospital. They re port him coming along fine but will remain in the hospital for several days as yet. Mrs. Glen Elaberry, Norfolk and Ray Craig, Grand Island, called on Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hemenway last week. The local Legion hall is being remodeled, a new floor is being hjn and panled wood walls and ceiling. The front of the building will also go through some changes. Plans have gotten underway for the Alumni banquet to be held May 29 in the Lutheran church parlors with the ladies of the church serving the meal. Re servations are to be made by May 27th with Mrs. Hal Thomp son or Mrs. Erick Minerich. The theme is “Merry Old England” John Hoffman from the class of “45” will be toastmaster. Officers for the years affair are, Mrs. LeRoy Ernst, Sharon Knapp. Douglas Hemenway, Mrs. Gene Neal, Mra. Hal Thompson and Mrs. Erick Minerich. $1.75 per plate will be charged. Page News By Mra. Bee Bakes Mrs Carrie Sterner spent Sun day with Mrs. Mae Copes. The Junior class of the Page High school will present their class play Friday night at the school auditorium at 8 p.m. It is entitled "The Eyes of Tla loc”. The senior class will serve pie and coffee at the end of the play. Twelve members attended the Bible Study class Monday after noon in the home of Mrs. Allen Haynes. Mrs. Haynes led the stu dy lesson. They will meet again next Monday at the Haynes home. Mrs. Al Philippi and daughter, Gale, is spending a few days with her grandmother, Mrs. Em ma Canaday and other relatives and friends. A no host dinner was held Sun day for Mr. and Mrs. Merwyn French jr. and family, York, at the church. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Bud Ickes and family, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Trowbridge and family, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kelly and family, Mr and Mrs. Dale Matschullat and family, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Heiss and family and the Rev. and Mrs. Robert Linder and fam ily. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Matschullat attended a card party Sunday evening at the home of Mr and Mrs Jay Trcase, Orchard. MYF met Sunday night at the Page Methodist church. Marilyn Max had the devotion and Ro berta Asher. the lesson entitled, “I've Got A Secret". The rally to be held at Atkinson, May 5 was discussed. Page will be in charge of the worship service. Mr. and Mrs. Robert VanHorn were sponsors. Out of town relatives who at tended the funeral of Allen Hay nes were, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Haynes, Mrs. Richard Nealy, Mrs Lawrence Nixon and Edgar Woods, all of Lincoln, Mrs. R. H. Robinson, Durango, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Haynes, Fre mont, Mr and Mrs. Elvin Haynes and family, Milford and Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Galloway and family, Fairmont. Others attended from Atkinson, Amelia, Chambers, Or chard, O’Neill, Royal and Stu art. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Belmar and family, Ewing, were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Troshynski. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Nissen en tertained a group of friends at a card party, Saturday night. Win ners were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Freemeyer, Mrs. Lorenz Riege and Mrs. R. V. Crumly. Mr. and Mrs. Merwyn French jr. and family, York, were here over the weekend to visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mer wyn French sr., and other rela tives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Troshynski entertained the members of the Couple’s club at their home Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Asher and Mrs. John Steinberg guests. Bridge was played with Mrs. Melvin Roach and Frank Cronk winning high. RNA Lodge met Wednesday night at the IOOF hall with 17 members present. After the busi ness meeting, lunch was served by Mrs. Alton Braddock and Mrs. John Steinberg. Mrs. Hester Ed misten was again able to join the group after a long absence. East Side Kountry Klub met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Warren Cronk, with Mrs Dale Ring, a guest. Roll call was answered by giving “A Household Hint". Mrs. Robert Beelaert gave the lesson on “Fabrics for cur tains and drapes ”. It was announced that the Ex tension tea for the Page Center will be held at the Methodist church basement, May 9. Mrs. Catherine Indra, will be in charge of the lesson on “Party Ideas”. Mrs. Kenneth Heiss won the the special prize. The King’s Daughters and the WSCS will again be hostesses at the Senior Tea to honor the seniors and their parents. It will be held May 3 at the Meth odist church basement. The Rev. Minert, Wausa, will be the guest speaker. GGG and G met Friday after noon with Mrs. Alta Finch. Mrs. John Steinberg was a guest. Card* were played with winner* being Mrs. I. O. Wood*, Mrs. An ton Nissen and Miss Grace Zel ler*. Mr and Mrs Larry Hei&s and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Beelaert were Saturday evening visitors in the Robert Prill home. Stuart. Mrs. Hester Edmisten, Mr. and Mrs Calvin Harvey and boys, Mr. and Mrs. N. D Ickes and Dennis were Sunday dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Woods who spent the weekend at their farm home. Dennis Ickes, Jim Melcher and Mike Fletcher, O’Neill, returned to Lincoln, Sunday afternoon where they attend college. They spent the Easter vacation with their parents. Mr and Mrs. Elmer Trowbridge spent Sunday in Norfolk visit ing their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Copple. They also attended dedication services of the Methodist church there. Miss Viola Haynes returned to Hastings Sunday after spending the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Allen Haynes. Mr. and Mrs. George Fink, Grand Island, brought Frank Snyder to his home in Page Fri day. He had spent several months with his grandson, Ross Fink and family in Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Robinson spent a few days with their daughter and family, the Rev. and Mrs. Lester Hart, Minden. WSCS MEETS Mrs. Merwyn French was the leader of the devotion and les son, Thursday afternoon, when the WSCS met for their regular meeting. The leason was on "Mis sionaries and Deconnesses". Mrs. French and Mrs. Trow bridge reported on the State meeting they had attended. Several things were announced as coming events, they included April 26, the day picked to clean the basement rooms. May 2 will be the annual May breakfast at 9 a m. All ladies of the communi ty are welcome. May 3, the Sen ior Tea will be held. Several ladies plan on attend ing the Spring meeting of the Northeast district held at Ran dolph, April 29. It was voted to accept their pledge for the coming year. Mrs. Merwyn French was cho sen as chairman of the nominat ing committee for the coming year. Two new members were put on the nominating committee they were Mrs. Bud Ickes and Mrs. Harry Harper. Election of officers were held with the following results: Mrs, Jessie Kelly, president, Mrs. J. Steinberg, vice-president, Mrs. Harry Harper, recording secre tary, Mrs. Orville Kemper, trea surer, Mrs. Marvin Stauffer, sec cretary of child work, Mrs. J. W.
