Atkinson News Mr. and Mrs Tommy Dunn spent Easter weekend in Atkin son with her mother, Mrs Ethel Mohr, and other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Alois Mlnarik left last Thursday to spend a few days with their daughter and son-inlaw, Mr and Mrs Mike McDaniels and family in Los Cruces, N. M Mr and Mrs. I* maid Mills, Max and Susan spent Sunday with his parents, Mr and Mrs Len Mills near Burwell. Mrs. El la Hoppes was also a guest in the Lin Mills home Easter Sun <lay. Mrs. Ethel Mohr went to Co lumbus last Thursday to visit her sister, Mrs Francis Weller, who had a stroke recently and is in critical condition m the Colum bus hospital. Mrs. Mohr returned home on Friday evening. Easter Sunday dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Mohr, Jean and Judy were, Mrs. Ethel Mohr, Mr and Mrs. Tommy Dunn of Omaha, Mrs. Dons Dobrovolny and Bob by Porter. Mrs. Brice Braziel, Kent and Blaine came last Friday to spend a few days with her parents, Mr and Mrs. Alfred Kazda. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ziska en tertained members of their fam dies and friends at an Easter Sunday dinner. Those present were Donald Ziska of Omaha and Miss Kathy Rickabaugh also of Omaha, Mr and Mrs Gene Zin ■ ka and Linda of O'Neill and Mr and Mr* Lloyd Otto of Stuart. Mr*. Don Mill* surprised the third grade pupils and their teacher. Mrs Rinnie Cans last Wednesday afternoon with a birthday party honoring her daughter, Susan Mills and the teacher, whose birthdays were on Good Friday Mrs Mills treat ed the group to ice cream and baked cake which she decorated in the Easter finery It was Su sans ninth birthday Mr and Mrs Robert Slay maker and family went to Lexington last Friday to spend the week end with Mr and Mrs. Carl (Toad) Smith and family Mr and Mrs. Claude Johnson were in Atkinson Saturday re newing old acquaintances with friends. Mr and Mrs. Johnson are living in Grand Island Mr and Mrs. Wayne Post came from Neligh Monday and were accompanied by Mrs. Fred Rich ardson to Stuart where they at tended the funeral of Leo Slach etka. Mr and Mrs. Guy Parsons drove to Niobrara Sunday where they spent Easter Sunday with her brothers, William and Frank pavalka Mr and Mrs. Lawrence Pacha entertained relatives at an Eas ter Sunday dinner at their home Those present were Mr and Mrs Carl Smith sr., Mr. and Mrs. Al bert Smith and family, Mr. and Mrs Robert LeMunyan and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. William Mor gan and family, Mr. and Mrs Charles Shane and family, Mrs. Mary Pacha and Mr and Mrs Clifford Pacha Sunday dinner guests at the - J Elmer McClurg home were, Mr and Mrs. William Wefso, Roy White and Scott and Sheryl Carl son of Crofton Bill Richardson arrived in At kinson last Saturday morning to spend Easter weekend with his parents. Mr and Mrs. Fred Richardson Bill was enroute to Detroit after spending the past five weeks at Canon City, Colo. Mrs Effie Kubart will come home Saturday to spend a few weeks at her home in Atkinson while Father Frank Kubart is on a combined business and plea sure vacation trip to Acapulco, Mexico and other interesting pla ces. He also plans to spend some time in Chile, in South America before returning home Easter Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Effie Kubart and Father Frank Kubart at Ewing were: Mrs. Eva Thompson and Larry of Bassett. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Coufal. Stuart, Mr and Mrs Leo Kramer and Mr and Mrs. Don ald Gokie and family, Atkinson, Miss Maureen Coufal of Omaha and Joe Coufal of Hayes, Kan Mr. and Mrs. Ortgen West, Blaine, Randy and Michael were Monday afternoon visitors of her aunt. The West family were enroute to their home in Gordon after spending the Easter weekend at Ord with relatives Mr and Mrs Rolland Kersch and family of Spencer and Mrs. Henry Heuton were Easter Sun day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Enbody and family in Atkinson. Mr and Mrs Willard Huff of Shawnee, Wyo., and Mr. and Mrs R Stromberg, Colorado Springs, Colo, and Mr. and Mrs. John Turner of Bassett, attended the funeral of Louis Dickau on Sat urday afternoon Mrs Bnce Brauel. Kent and Blaine came last Friday to spend the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs Alfred Kazda Mr and Mrs Harry Hoffman and Mr and Mrs Walt Dickau of Douglas, Wyo.. visited with relatives and friends in and a round Atkinson last week. They came to attend the funeral of Louis Inckau and were guests in the home of Mr and Mrs Will iam Tasler. Mrs. Violet Ashcroft and Vera Planck went to Auburn last Sat urday and are spending this week visaing relatives and friends They expect to return home this weekend. The Merry Mixers extension club met Monday night with Mrs Winnie Beck. Roll call was an swered with, "A tip which I think helps to simplify sewing." The Guess What was won by Donna Regal After the business meeting the lesson material on, Fabncks for Curtains and Dra pery” was presented by D'jnna Regal. The Mosiac supplies which were to be used at this meeting failed to arrive so the ladies worked and spent the rest of the evening socially and will com plete the Mosiac project at the next meeting which will be held at the home of Mrs. Crystal En body on May 20. Mr and Mrs. Frank Brady re turned home Monday after spend ing the Easter weekend in Den ver with his sister and brother in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Crea ver. G. I. Medcalf is spending a few days at home after complet ing the quarter session at Wayne college. He plans to leave this week for Colorado where he ex pects to find employment for the summer months Muses Iris Fundus, Roma Fun dus and Sandra Frisch visited Sunday afternoon with I> mna Me Clurg Donna is spending the Easter vacation in Atkin*in with her parents. Mr and Mrs Louis Humphrey and ot her relatives Kenneth returned home that same evening Mrs Small and the children accom panied her brother. Duane Hum phrey home on Monday when he returned to his teaching duties at Ansley Mr. and Mrs Charles Meurrens and family came from Omaha last Friday to spend the Easter weekend with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr and Mrs John Meurrens.
