Clayton Hoke attended the sci ence fair in Wayne on Friday and went to Vermillion, South Da kota Saturday. They report liking their new state very much but miss Ne braska and old friends. They spoke of having flowers in bloom, garden was ready for planting and the cherry trees were show ing first blossoms. Right now Oar own Nebraska is boasting early spring but we have been fooled too often before and those first robins and other birds have found themselves in a rush for shelter from a blizzard. The afternoon was spent socially. William Wilcox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Wilcox, is hospitalized in St. Joseph hospital in Omaha his condition is described as grave at this writing. Friends here received word from Orchard of the death of Mrs. Wilbur Kane. Mrs. Kane i. an aunt of Mrs. Lionel Gibbs and lived in Orchard but was vaca tioning in Arizona at the time of her death. Wilbur is better known employed by the late Byron Hemenway for many years. Many couples from here at tended the Farm Bureau card party Thursday night in NYUgh. Mrs. Kenneth Clark, women's chairman for Antelope county was in charge erf the evening's entertainment. Mrs Fred Nulxo entertained at a Mother's tea Wednesday af ternoon at the Legion hall and the club scout pack no 208 was re charted. The pack is sponsored by the local American Legion Mrs. Nolze is den mother for the pack and will be assisted by Mrs Enck Mmerich. Mrs. Jess Flowers was able to return to her home after a two day stay in Antelope Memorial hospital in Neligh.
