Jacqueline Martys Weds James Becker In California Rite Jacqueline Marie Martys, Seal Beach, Calif., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund M. Martys, Phoenix, Ariz., was united in marriage to James Steven Beck er, Long Beach, Calif., son of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Becker, February 23 at a 12 o’clock nuptial mass at Si. Anthony’s Catholic church, Long Beach. Father Dennis Burke performed the double ring cere mony. The brule, who was escorted lo the altar by her father, wore a street k ngth white embroid ered organdy over taffeta dress w.th j:1i kirt and elbow length sleeves. She carried white or chids n a missel. She wore an elbow length veil with an em broidered organdy crown. Patricia Castro, Long Beach, was the maid of honor and she wore a yellow organdy over taf feta dress with bell skirt and elbow length sleeves. She carried Kathleen Rose Sehi Weds Walter Dubas jr. In Catholic Ceremony Kathleen Rose Sehi, Columbus, and Walter Dubas, jr., Fullerton, were married February 23 at 10:30 at St. John’s Catholic church near Ewing, with Father Kubart officiating. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs Albert S hi, Clearwater, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dubas, sr., Ful lerton. The bride appeared in a gown of white lace and silk organza with molded bodice of lace, high lighted by a scalloped sequin trimmed sabrina neckline and long fitted sleeves ending in bri dal points at the wrist. Alternat ing panels of lace and organza formed the bouffant length skirt. A crystal and pearl crown held the elbow length silk illusion veil. She carried a cascade of red ro ses with white streamers. Mrs. Merle Sehi was the matron of honor and Margie Newquist. Vicki Most els, Evelyn Patton and a bouquet of yellow jonquils. Tamie Van Guilder, as the flower girl, wore a yellow cotton satin dress with a white organdy pinafore and carried yellow jon quils in a small white basket. William Walton, friend of the groom, was best man and Michael Show and Robert Dye, ushers. Mrs. J. L. Dixon, cousin of the bride sang “Ave Marie”. A buffet dinner following the ceremony for 50 guests was held at G711 Ocean Avenue. The bride is a graduate of Ari zona State University and re ceived a B. A. in education. She is presently employed as a kin dergarten teacher in the Alami tos school district. The groom graduated from St. Mary's Academy, O’Neill, and at tended Creighton University. He is now stationed aboard the USS' Gridlcy whose home port is Long Beach, Calif. For a short wedding trip to Laguna Beach the bride was at tired in a two piece brown and olive floral print dress. They will be at home at 207 A Ocean, Seal Beach, Calif. • Ella Bosley were bridesmaids. They were all identically dress ed in French blue organza dome skirted ballerinas accented with back bows. The fitted bodices had scoop necklines and cap sleeves. They wore pearlized caps with small veils, and car ied white carnations accented with French blue ribbons. Merle Sehi was best man and Gary Johnson, Lyle Newquist, Ciaience Mostels, Dale Patton and Robert Bosley were grooms men. Ushers were Jack Sehi and Donald Dubas. Dinner was served at St. John’s church parlors for 175 guests fol lowed by a reception given by the bride’s parents for 200 guests at the K. C. Hall, Elgin. The bride attended Clearwater High school and is now employed at S'i. Mary’s Catholic hospital, Columbus as a bookkeeper. The bridegroom graduated from Fullerton High school and is employed at the Nebraska Pub lic Power District. The couple will live in Colum bus. Mrs. Douglas Shrader, the former Mary Ann Bauer, married February 23. Verona Frerichs, Daniel Nekolite Repeat Wedding Vows PAGE — Vernorn French*, daughter of Mr*. Elsie Frerichs, Page, was united in marriage to Darnel Nekolite, sun of Mr. and Mrs. John Nekolite, Bassett Sat uiday, Feb. 23 at the Lutheran cnurch, U Neill. The double ring ceremony was performed at 2 o'clock before 30 relatives and friends. The bride was dressed in a light blue nylon over taffeta dress with a carnation corsage. She carried a white Bible, a gift of the groom. Mrs. Donna Urban, Ainsworth, sister of the groom and Lyle Frerichs, brother of the bride were the couple’s only attendants. A reception followed in the church basement for the guests. Mrs. Donald Snyder cut the wedding cake and Valjean Parks and Karen Kelly served the bri dal table. The bride is a graduate of the Page high school. The groom attended school in Bassett and is presently employ ed in the trucking business. After a wedding trip to Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma the couple will be at home in Bassett. Lynda Haynes Marries Lt. Marvin W. Buss In Lincoln Ceremony Lynda Haynes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Haynes, O' Neill, became the bride of Lieu tenant Marvin W. Buss, son of Mrs. Arthur Wohler, Clay Center, Kan., Sunday, February 24th at 3 p.m at the Lincoln Air Base chapel. Captain Troy Scogin, the base chaplin, officiated at the double ring ceremony an altar decorated with baskets of white glads and mums. The bride, escorted to the al tar by her father, wore a gown of white taffeta. A sabrina neck line, appliqued at either shoul der with a velvet leaf and grape decor, contoured the long sleev ed empire bodice. An inverted pearl tiara held the bride’s bouffant veil of silk il lusion. She carried a bouquet of white roses. Lonna Haynes was her sister’s maid of honor. Laurell Haynes, also a sister, was the brides maid. They were identically gowned in turquoise velvet sheaths with matching accessor ies. Their bouquets were of white mums. The groom, attended by Lieu tenant Clark Lovrien, San An gelo, Tex., as the best man and Captain Royal Foster, Lincoln, as groomsman. They were all dress ed in formal military uniforms. Ushers were Captain Tom Rodd and Lieutenant Tom Hilgenberg. both of Lincoln. Mrs. Jack Winters sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “O Perfect Love”. A reception at the Officer’s club followed the ceremony with about 100 guests attending. Mrs. Zane Edwards, Amelia, registered the guests. The wedding cake was cut by Ruth Niemeyer, assisted by Tru dy Troutman. Nancy Lichten berg, Phyllis and Sandra Lutje meyer poured punch and coffee. Mrs. Duane Stecerson and Mrs. Paul DeVries were in charge of the gifts. All were classmates of the bride while in nurses train ing. The bride is a graduate of O - Neill Public school and of the Lincoln General Hospital School of Nursing, where she is present ly employed. The groom is a graduate of the U. S. Air Force Academy at Co lorado Springs, Colo. He is pre sently assigned to the Lincoln Air Base where he is a helicop ter pilot. Uhl, Omaha, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norb Uhl. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Moore left Tuesday for Omaha to attend the Lumberman’s Convention. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Brady and Mr. and Mrs. Ned Allendorfer, drove up from Omaha to attend the funeral of D. D. DeBolt. Mr. and Mrs. Ira H. Moss and Sara Lou returned Saturday from a trip to Los Angeles. Mrs. Stella Elliott Davey, pass ed away in Alpine, Calif., and was buried in San Diego. She at one time lived at Dorsey on what is known as Joe Cihlar’s place. Survivors are an adopted son, and one sister, Mrs. Ada Wilson, Rapid City. The ONeill Women’s club met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Larry Schaffer. Serving committee was Mrs. Gilbert Poe se, Mrs. Harold Seger, Mrs. H. L. McCoy and Mrs. C. E. Jones. Mrs. John Berigan had charge of the program. The April meet ing will be an antique show. Members of the Chez-A-Mari were entertained by Mrs. Robert Dvoy Tuesday evening with the dinner at the Town House fol lowed by playing of bridge at her home. Mr. and Mrs. John Storjohann’s daughter returned to her home in Chappell, Nebraska, on Tues day. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Streeter and family, Lincoln, visited from Fri day to Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Streeter. Mr. and Mrs. Don Wedige are moving from Omaha to Atkinson. VFW Auxiliary No. s>26 held its regular meeting in the court house annex at 8 p m. Tuesday evening. It was voted to send $13 to the Grand Island Veteran’s hospital for project H. O. P. E. to be used for a Television set or some ot her project. Money was collected to be sent to the Cancer fund. Mmes. Lyle McKim, Ray Re vel and A1 Stoffer will spent an afternoon at the mobile unit that will be here taking free chest x-rays. Mrs. Lyle Tucker and Mrs R Tucker served lunch. What Not Extension Club The What Not Extension club met Monday evening, February 25 at at the home of Mrs. Cash Arrasmith. The members answer ed roll call by giving some of their favorite jioetry. It was de cided to have a craft lesson next time in addition to the lesson on floors. Mrs. Arrasmith gave the lesson on “Amps and Watts." The next meeting will be March 25 at the home of Mrs. Robert Carroll. Mrs. Glenn Kennicott, reporter Merry Matrons Club Merry Matrons club met with Mrs. Frank Hawk as hostess Feb 21 with 10 members present and two guests, Mrs. Christiansen from Chambers and Grandma Tomjack from Ewing. Next meeting will be with Mrs. Orla Cleveland Mar. 21. with March ideas as roll call. The members were busy making ba by blankets for the University hospital. Mrs Robert Kreiziger GOOSE LAKE 4 H Sunday afternoon, March 3, the Goose Lake 4-H club was called to order by president Billy Tom jack at the schoolhouse. Roll call was answered by the projects we were going to take next year. Eighteen were pre sent and three absent. Two new members joined the club. We plan to have a roller skat ing party to be on a Sunday eve ning in March. No definite per mission had been received about having a soft drink stand at Goose Lake this summer. Our new year books and pro ject books were handed out by our leaders. Several groups and their leaders met after the meet ing to discuss their projects. There are clothing and food pro ject meetings scheduled during March. The next meeting is planned to be April 5 at the school house. Mrs. LaRue and Mrs. Stone served lunch. Leanna Tomjack News Reporter Services Held At Atkinson for Roy Woodruff Funeral services for Roy P. Woodruff. 73, were held Saturday at Seger’s Funeral home with Rev. Milan Coleman, Methodist pastor, officiating. Mrs. Richard Braun was the soloist and Mrs. Jay Jungman the accompanist. Pallbearers were Mike Bonenberger, Walter Ferris, Rolland Everett, Joe Burda, Alois Wewel and Albert Anderson. Burial was in the Woodlawn cem etery. Mr. Woodruff was bom May 8, 1890, at Greenville, 111. He was married to Clara Spence in 1922 at Fairfax, S. D. Tegeler At Orchard PAGE Funeral services were held for Mrs. Alma Tegeler, 81, Saturday from the Orchard I^uth eran church. Burial was at Battle Creek. Pallbearers were Myrl Els berry, Calvin Harvey, Roger Bowen, William Neubauer, Hom er Rutherford and Lawrence Smith. Alma Emelia Henrietta Habus was born May 30, 1881, tlie daugh ter of Herman and Susan Miller Habus, at Milwaukee, Wis. She died February 28 at St. Anthony’s hospital. She moved to Battle Creek with her parents when she was five years old. u;uc unitntl in m'lrfiatm Frank Charles Tegeler, Oetolar 7, 1900 at Battle Creek and they became the parents of four chil dren. In January of 1919 they moved to a farm near Page where they lived until 1946, when they moved into Page. Mrs. Tegeler was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and was a member of the Or chard Lutheran church. She is survived by sons, Nor man, Lincoln, and Harry, a daughter, Mrs. Otto (Susan) Terrill, fxrth of Page, six grand children, five great grandchil dren, brother, Walter Speicher, Omaha, and sisters, Mrs. Fred Peterson, Tilden, Mrs. Rosey Weiss, Hermiston, Ore., and Mrs Minnie Tischendorf, Frankville, Wis. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son who died in infancy. WSTC Choir to Appear On Channel Four TV Wayne State Teacher’s choir will appear on KTIV channel 4 on Sunday, Mar. 10 at 3:00 p.m The choir will present a program of songs from the English Re naissance period, and will be under the direction of Mr. An thony Garlick. A number of stu dents from the surrounding towns are members of the choir. Each contestant presented a 10 nnnute prepared oration about the United States Constitution and spoke extemporaneously for four minutes on one of six topics drawn from a hat. Miss Max will present her speech at the district contest in Norfolk, March 12, She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Max.
