Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parks sr. had as their guests Saturday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Parks, Clearwater, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parks, sr., of Stuart and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Thramer, of Ewing. Sunday evening guests at the Mark Thramer home were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Wal nofer and Vernon of Neligh. Gregg and Connie Thramer, children of Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Thramer, spent Monday at the Mark Thramer home. Recent guests at the Ray But ler home were his nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Hall of Royal. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mullens and family returned Sunday from Platte Center where they had i spent the weekend with his mo ther. Mrs. James Tinsley accompan ied by Miss Hazel Ruby, Mrs. Jessie Angus and Mrs. Ed Hoag went to Norfolk Friday. While M-s. Tinsley transacted business Miss Ruby, Mrs. Angus and Mrs Hoag visited Mr. and Mrs. De witt Gunter at a Norfolk rest borne. The Young Matrons club was entertained Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Leland Welke with Mr#. Thomas Eacker, as sistant hostess. Mrs. Vern Finley was a guest and one of the prize winners. Other winners were Mrs Charles Rotherham and Mrs. Ralph Munn. Lunch was served by the hostesses. The Happy Hollow 4-H club met at the Leland Welke home Fri day evening. The Thursday Night Pitch club met Feb. 14 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Tuttle. Score winners were Charles Rother ham and Mrs Elmer Bergstrom, high, Mr. Bergstrom and Mrs. Wm. Spence, low. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Vance Anson. Re freshments were served by the hosts, he next meeting will be at the Wald o Davis borne. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Welke were hosts for a Valentine din ner party at their home Thursday evening. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Milan Welke and daughters of Ewing and Mr and Mrs. Har old Rodgers of O’Neill. Larry Rotherham, who had spent several days in Lincoln for a medical check-up and a visit with relatives, returned to Ew ing Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Milan Welke had as their dinner guests Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Scott of Chambers and their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Scott from Oklahoma. Mrs. Harriet Welke spent Sun day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Welke. Mr and Mrs. Milan Welke and daughters attended a family re union Sunday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Scott, Chambers, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Scott of Alva. Okla. Other* present were Mr. and Mrs Robert Scott and Mr and Mrs Leuo Sargent of O'Neill. Rev. and Mrs. Lester Spragg and Jane. Roslynn and Vickie were overnight guests Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs Price Alderman at Newport, re turning home on Sunday. During their absence. Curtis Robert* sr. conducted the morn ing worship hour at the First Methodist church Sunday morn ing. Mrs. Roberts, organist, play ed the organ prelude for the ser vice. Mrs. Marvin Carl arrived in the states February 8 from Alas ka and with her husband, Sgt. Marvin Carl has been guests at the Delbert Carl home. They left Thursday for Fort Sill, Okla., where Sgt. Carl will be stationed Sgt. Carl had been under treat merit for some back trouble at a Denver hospital and had been sent some time ago back to the states for this reasou. John Juracek returned to his home Monday at Norfolk after spending the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Juracek and fam ily. Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Juracek were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meinke of Norfolk. Saturday callers at the Juracek home were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Juracek of Norfolk, who had attended the Parks-Noffke wedding Saturday morning at St. Patrick’s church. Butch Pofahl, who won the Sammy Williams Trophy as the midwest tourney’s outstanding boxer last year, arrived in Om aha by plane on a three day pass from the U. S. Army. Here he was joined by members oI his family from Ewing to attend the Midwest Golden Gloves Tourna ment. From Ewing were his fa ther, Louis Pofahl, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Pofahl. The Tigers of the Ewing high school won the game here Friday evening when they played Stuart. The score 45-43. Duke Hobbs, who scored 18 counters for the Tigers, also tossed the deciding basket with six seconds showing on the scoreboard clock. Jim Gill hit 12 markers to pace the losing Stu art attack.
