Mrs Ed Rohde, Mrs. Frank Weeder and Mrs. Deibert Wade were assisting hostesses. There were 40 ladies present. A mock wedding was performed as part of the entertainment. Mrs. Glenn Davy also read the recipe “How to cook a husband”. A charivari crowd gathered Friday night late at the Elmo Barnes home honoring Mr and Mrs. Marlin Barnes who were married Dec. 23 at Winside. An other group came on Sunday night also. Lyle Stewart and Marjene Weeder returned to college at Vermillion Sunday. Dennis Dar nell returned to Ix>ane and Bruce Schollmeyer to Norfolk. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kolund and family returned home Jan uary 1 after spending Christmas with relatives in California. The Bristow American Legion Auxiliary met Wednesday, Jan uary 2 at the home of Mrs Oli ver Nelsen with 11 members pre sent. She left Satur day morning by bus from O’Neill. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hill of Om aha met her at the bus in Oma ha and took her to their home for dinner. Meek school District 27 dismiss ed school Monday on account of the funeral of Miss Salma Heb ner at the Butte Community church. Miss Twila Hicks is the teacher. Mr. Roy Gannon, Inman, called at the Fred Lindberg home Fri day afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anson and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Anson and boys, Brunswick, were Sunday af ternoon callers at the Dewayne Anson home. Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson, Sue, Mrs. Dewayne Anson and Sharon, Mr. and Mrs. William Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Crawford and Pam joined a group of friends at Bristow and they all went together to Chari vari Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Nelson who were married a few weeks ago and live south of Bristow.
