Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday,
Nov 25th at the home of Mrs.
Cooper’s brother, Arnold Zuehlke
and sisters, Marie and Erna Zue
hlke. Others present were the sis
ters, Mr. and Mrs. Sewell John
son and members of their family,
Atkinson and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Friedrich and their family, Spen
cer. The Friedrich’s one son,
Carl and wife were the only mem
bers not present for the occasion.
The Junior class of the Cham
bers High school presented the
three act comedy “The Groom
Says No.” at the High School Au
ditorium Friday evening, Nov.
30th. The cast consisted of Lana
Otter, Debby Eisenhauser, Mary
Fleek, Gary Fagan, Jim Urban,
Peggy Gerkie, Gene Metschke,
Elaine Dankert, Darla Waldo, Su
san LaRue, Edward Fluckey. Stu
dent director was Sandre Whita
ker. The play was directed by
Jerry Liveringhouse. Between
acts was a song by the Junior
girls, and a piano duet by Lana
Turner.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Tangeman,
Chadron, came Thursday and
spent until Saturday with his par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Tange
man. Mrs. Tangeman attended
the funeral of his grandmother,
Mrs. Alma Farrier but Mr.
Tangeman was called to Lincoln
on Friday. Also attending the
funeral were Arland Tangeman,
Sidney and James Tangeman,
Littleton, Colo. Both left for home
following the services.
Mrs. Leslie Lieswald is collect
ing all kinds of cancelled postage
stamps for mission work through
the church. She would appreciate

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Farrier,
Denver, Colo., came to attend the
funeral of his grandnvither, Mrs.
Alma Farrier. Also here for the
funeral were Mrs. Farrier 'g
daughters, Mrs Carrie Briggs,
Red Oak, Iowa, Mrs. Clarence
Vick and Mrs Alice Staples, Ok
lahoma City, Okla. and her two
sisters, Mrs. Lena Springer, Het
tinger. N. D and Mrs. Gladys
Springer, Alexandria, Minn
John Walter Sr. was taken to
St. Anthony’s hospital, O'Neill,
Friday following a stroke at his
home in Chambers His son, Al
fred Walter and his daughters,
Mrs. Rena Deirking and Mrs.
Van Robertson have been at his
bedside since. Henry Walter, De
Witt, came Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. j. E. Grimes
were Sunday dinner guests in the
G. H. Grimes home.
The Senior and Junior Youth
Fellowship had a pot luck dinner
at the Methodist church Sunday
following the morning worship. In
the afternoon the group set up
the nativity scene on the lawn
Keller club met Wednesday,
Nov. 28 with Mrs. Duke Read.
Roll call was answered by nam
ing a cause for Thanksgiving. It
was decided to send a Memorial
gift to the family of Mrs. Alma
Farrier in as much as she was an
honorary member of the organi
zation. A card was sent to Mrs.
Ernest Young who was unable to
be present. The door prize was
awarded to Mrs. George Came
ron. A brief game period was
enjoyed It was decided to hold a
Christmas party at the home of
Mrs Ed Eisenhauer Dec. 19. The
next meeting will be Dec. 5 at
the home of Mrs. Bernard
Grimes with Mrs. Richard
Grimes co-hostess. There were
19 members and 8 children pre
sent. Lunch was served by the
hostess.
Mr. and Mrs Ralph Garwood
made a trip to Grand Island
Monday.
Mrs Minnie Ritterbush return
ed home Saturday from St An
thony’s hospital where she had
been a patient for about 2 weeks,
Mrs. Sarah Adams left recent
ly for California to spend the
winter with her daughter and son
in-law, Mr and Mrs. E. J. Sal
stron and son, Turlock. She was
accompanied by her cousin, Mrs.
Dora To\|nsend. Page, who will
also spend the winter in Califor
nia.
Mr and Mrs. Jim Pucket and
children, Emmett, were Sunday
evening visitors in the L. V. Coop
er home, also calling in the eve
ning were Mr. and Mrs. Dick
Read and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Damme
and Cheryl visited her uncle and
aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bridges,
Orchard.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Rowse
took their daughter, Linda, back
to Lincoln Sunday after having
spent the weekend at home. They
were accompanied by Kenneth
Coolidge who had also spent the
weekend with his parents, Mr
and Mrs. Charles Coolidge.

iliary Convention, Grand Island.

art, spent Friday with her sister
and husband, Mr and Mrs. An

Mr. and Mrs. Dave Holcomb,
Aurora, were weekend guests in
the L V. Cooper home.
Mr. and Mrs Dick Read and
children, Lincoln, moved the first
of the week to the Tim Read
place east of town. The Tim
Reads moved last week into the
Dick Read house in the north
part of town.
Mrs. J. W. Walter attended a
shower honoring Pat Hobbs at
Ewing Saturday evening. Miss
Hobbs is the fiancee of Mrs
Walter’s grandson, Ron Brion.
Mrs. Kenneth Werner spent
from Sunday to Wednesday of
last week in Denver with her
daughter, Connie Werner.
Mr and Mrs Dein Rowse and
Mr and Mrs Ralph Garwood
spent Thursday with their par
ents, Mr and Mrs. Art Rowse,
Burwell.
