water, wtio died November 19 at
the Antelope Memorial hospital in

the Clearwater cemetery.

She was liom Septemlier 12,
.1882, to Mr and Mrs. Ernest
Michael. She was baptized in the
1 Aitheran faith in infancy. She
married Crant Wilcox Docemlier
31 1901. They made their home
near Clearwater until 1904 when
they moved to the present home.
She was the last surviving mem
ber of a family of eight children
Survivors are three daughters,
Mrs. C. 1). Hartronft, O’Neill.
Mrs Ralph Springer. Klamath
Falls, One , Mrs. S. L. Linemann,
North Platte; nine grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by
her huslmnd in October 1959 and
a daughter, Adeline Haake, in
‘ October i960.
M. S. Farnsworth
Dies at Lincoln
Minnie Sarah Farnsworth was
horn February 16, 1879 at Dy
sart, la. and died Novemlier 21
at tiie Providence Hospital, Lin
coln at the age of 83 years, nine
months and five days.
In 1893 she came to Nebraska.
She graduated from the Ewing
High School and was a graduate
of the University of Nebraska.
Miss Farnsworth was active in
the business world, having been
employed in stenographic work
hy the late Dr. J. E. Sumers of
Omaha for 25 years.
Miss Farnsworth’s hobby was
the collection of bells of which
she had a very large numlier ob
tained in Europe and other parts
of the world. She was president
of the Bell Conventions held an
nuity in different cities as long
as her health permitted.
She was active in her member
ship in the Congregational church
at Omaha.
Miss Farnsworth is survived by
two sisters and two brothers, Mrs.
Jessie Boyd, Spokane, Wash.,
Mrs. Salina Malmsten, Lincoln,
David S. Farnsworth, Las Vegas,
Nev. and E. H. Farnsworth,

Neill Roscoe Ames, 42, on Fri
day, Nov. 23 at the Atkinson
Methodist church with the Rev.
Milan Coleman officiating. Burial
was at Woodlawn cemetery with
Legionairen from Farley-Tushla
Post No. «i, Atkuison and Norton
Carlisle Post No. 115, Stuart, per
forming military graveside rites
Pallbearers were Roy Gilg, Roy
Ries, Robert LeMunyan, Ray
Slaymaker, Paul Judge and Ray
mer Funk.
Hymns were sung by Mrs
Richard Braun and Mrs. Dean
Fleming accompanied at the or
gan by Mrs. Jay Jungman.
Neill Roscoe Ames, the son of
Margaret Rhodes Ames and the
late Lafayette Ames, was born
on April 23, 1920 at Atkinson and
died on Tuesday, Nov. 27, fol
lowing a heart attack.
During World War II he serv
ed almost four years with the
U. S. Army in which 2lA years
of it was sjient overseas. He was
awarded the Purple Heart and
the Bronze Star medals.
Following his discharge he re
turned to Atkinson where he
worked as a painter and carpet
ter.
Survivors include his mother,
Mrs. Margaret Ames; brother,
Charles and Simeon, all of Atkin
son, sisters, Mrs. Dave (Bertha)
Davis, Denver, Colo., and Mrs.
C. Ewert (Susan) Carlson, Chica
go, 111., and one niece, Margaret
Louise Davis, Denver.

Rites Held Saturday
For Vicky Lynn Price
Vicky Lynn Price, 22 month
old daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Stanley D. Price, Norfolk, died of
pneumonia at 5:30 p.m. Thursday
in a hospital in Norfolk. She was
admitted to the hospital Wednes
day night.
Funeral services were conduct
ed at 10 a.m. Saturday in Im
maculata Convent by Rev. Fran
cis Price, Cedar Rapids, uncle
of Vicky Lynn. Burial was in St.
John’s cemetery, southwest of
Clearwater.
Rosary was recited Friday at
S :30 p.m. at the Norfolk Home
for Funerals.
Vicky Lynn was horn January
24. 1961. at Norfolk.
She is survived by her par
ents, three brothers, Terry, Tim
my and Tommy; one sister, Con
nie; two grandmothers, Mrs.
Catherine Schueth of Clearwater,
and Mrs. Mary Price of O'Neill,
and her great-grandmother, Mrs.
Anna Sehi of Neligh.

Clinton Alva Townsend, son of
Clinton A and Carrie Gallagher
Townsend was born April 10,
1900 at Page and riled November
24, 1962 as a result of a fall at
his home earlier in the week. He
never regained consciousness af
ter falling down steps at his
home.
lie spent his boyhood in Page
and was a graduate of an Omaha
high school and attended Nebras
ka Wesleyan and the University
of Nebraska
Mr Townsend was united in
marriage to June Travis, Oma
ha, in November of 1928. Aixn.it
15 years ago he moved to Col
umbus where he was in the farm
machinery manufacturing busi
ness.
Survivors include widow , June,
daughter, Mrs. Jack (Patricia)
Blockner. Columbus, son. Rich
ard, Pine Plains. N. Y., and a
sister. Mrs. Frank (Helen) Shel
mer, Norfolk.
Graveside Rites Held
For William Herick, 70
Graveside rites were held for
William Herick, 70, Wednesday,
Nov. 28. 1962, at 10 a m. with
the Rev. John Hart officiating.
Burial was at Prospect Hill ceme
tery.
William Herick was the son of
Emery and Ella Maring Herick
was born on April 15, 1892 and
died at the Hoffmeister Nursing
home, in Genoa November 24.
Mr. Herick worked as a farm
hand.

Edward Dean Cooney
Edward Dean Cooney, 3 month
old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Cooney of Joliet, 111 died early
Monday morning at his home.
The child was born August 9,
1962 at Red Lodge.
Surviving are his parents and
a brother, Thomas R. jr., all of
the family home, his paternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Clark R. Cooney of Joliet and his
maternal grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Baker, O'Neill.
Funeral services were conduct
ed at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the
Christian church at Joliet.
