She accompanied them home for a week's visit. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wood were Sunday dinner guests in the Har lan Larson home. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hoffman visited their daughter .Carol, at WSTC Monday evening and at tended the musical play “Kiss Me Kate” given by the students of the college. Carol had a part m the play. Bill Log* man went to Norfolk Monday evening to attend a co op meeting. Mrs. E. A. Farrier accompan ied her aon and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Farrier, Winner, 9. D. on a business trip by plane to Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn., Sunday, Oct. 31. While there they visited in the Dick Fees home and talked to Mrs. Ben Medcalf. They returned on Tuesday. The Bethany Woman's Associa tion met at the home of Mrs Ralph Hoffman Wednesday, Oc tober -4 with an attendance of 16 ladies and five children. Mrs. Er nest Farrier led the lesson "Love for Thy Neighbor”. The business session was most ly taken up with final plans for the smorgasbord to be held at the church November 1. The next meeting will be November 14 at the home of Mrs. Walter Sum merer. Mrs. Mary Niemand visited in O'Neill last week, being a house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Low ery. She visited Mrs. Ada Spang ler, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Shaw, Mrs. Emma Martin and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ritty. The latter brought her home. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Logeman and daughters were Saturday supper guesis in the Bob Loseke home. A group of Chambers high school students went to Neligh Friday evening for a roller skat ing party. Mrs. Bob Beed and children and Mrs. Raymond Beed drove to Seward, Friday, to visit the for former’s grandmother, Mrs. Earl Coppac. They returned Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Loseke accompanied her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Bartak, Ewing, to Parker, S. D. Saturday to attend a bull sale. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wood and Wayne Larson visited in the Har old Micanek home at Lynch the past weekend and also went deer hunting. Ben Biair returned to his home, Omaha, Sunday, after spending several days with his mother, Mrs. Ralph Blair and grandmother, Mrs. Whidden. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Henel re turned home Thursday, from a week's hunting and visiting in Wyoming. They visited their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ray, her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Neilson and other rela tives. Mrs Jim Ringle and two child ren, Omaha, are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Jar man. Mrs. Milan Wilke and children returned to their home at Ewing Sunday after spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Scott. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hanna were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Wilkinson. Mildred Keyes, Inman, spent Friday and Saturday in the Clif ford Gillette home. Harold Larson visited Frankie Lambert, Sunday. The American Legion Auxiliary met at the Legion hall Friday evening with 11 members pre sent. The president, Mrs. Don ald Green, presided. There were several communications read and some reports given. The main business before the group was final plans for Veterans day. Lunch was served by the hos tesses, Mrs. John Honeywell and Mrs. Erwin Carpenter. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Stevens, Cheri and Terry, Atkinson, were Sunday afternoon visitors in the Erwin Carpenter home. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cavanaugh, Phlidephia, Penn., have been vis iting relatives and friends at Chambers the past week. Raymond and Bob Beed and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Beed went to Stuart Sunday and visited in the tennis Kaup home. The oc casion was the sixth birthday of Lori Kaup. Lori is a grand daughter of Raymond Beed. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Loseke and Bob Koci were guests in the Em erson Loseke home, Sunday. Pail bearers were Lawrence Wes!over, Ray mond Dexter. Vernon Lowery, James Ballagh, Charles Cassidy and Lei and Chaffm. Burial was in the Cottonwood cemetery, Bur well. Mr. Graves was born December 21, 1903 and died October 31. 1962 at his home 17 miles southwest of Chambers of a heart attack, while loading cattle. He is sur vived by his parents, Mr and Mrs. Walt Graves with whom he made his home and six brothers, Ervin, Carroll, Nebr, Russell, Ferndale, Wash., Walt, George, Melvin and Francis of the Bur well community. Many friends and relatives from Chambers at tended the funeral services. Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Cooper went to Aurora Friday to the Dave Holcomb home. On Satur* day they went to Lincoln for Mr. Cooper’s medical check-up. They were accompanied by Floyd Cooper, Yakima, Wash , a guest of the L. V. Coopers. Mr. Cooper spent the weekend in the Floyd Anderson home, Lincoln. He re turned to Chambers Monday. Mrs. A. B. Hubbard returned home Saturday from a visit of several weeks in California and Oregon. She spent two weeks with her sister, Mrs. Margaret Elkins and daughter at Stockton, Calif. She and Mrs. Elkins met their sister, Mrs. Lizzie Coleman, Woodburn, Ore., and a niece at Sacramento, Calif., where they enjoyed dinner with a cousin. This is first time the three sis ters had been together in many years. Mrs. Hubbard and her sis ter, Mrs. Coleman, spent a week with a niece at Quincy, Calif., and then on to Woodburn, Ore., where Mrs. Hubbard spent two weeks with her sister and re turned home by train.
