Marlene Schmaderer, Ed Sargent Exchange Wedding Vows Marlene Schmaderer and Ed Sargent were united in marriage Sept. 29 in St. Boniface Catholic church in Stuart. The Rev. Father Paschang solemnized the 11 a.m. ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr and Mrs. Alais Schmaderer, Stu art and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon L. Sargent, Grand Island. Sister Vera O.S.F. accompanied soloist, Jim Hytrek on the organ. Escorted to the altar by her fa ther, the bride wore a Paris Or iginal designed in peau-de-soie. The princess lines were draped at the side with a cluster of re embn u’.ered alencon lace. A bas que bodice featured a bateau neckline edged with alencon lace and trimmed with garlands of sequins and tiny seed pearls. The long sleeves tapered to tradition al bridal points at the wrists. The modified bell shaped skirt fell in to a chanel lenath train. Her bouffant fingertip veil was held by a Swedish crown of lace trim med with sequins and pearls. She carried a bouquet of baby mums. Karen Schmaderer, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Doris Schmaderer and Marlene Kaup were bridesmaids. They wore identical dresses designed in a ballerina length of brown floren tine lace over champaign satin. They carried one single stem bronze colored mum. Jack Sargent, Grand Island was best man. Groomsmen were Mor ris Schmaderer, Omaha and Ron ald Dold, Ainsworth. Kenneth Ku lus and Gerald Schmaderer were ushers. A dinner was given at the Stu art auditorium for 72 guests. The couple will reside at Cop peras Cove, Tex. The bride is a graduate of Stu art high school with the class of ’58 and has been employed in the office of St. Francis hospital, Grand Island. The bridegroom graduated from Grand Island high school and at tended Wesleyan University for three years. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Russell Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Damme are the bridegroom’s par ents. The Rev. D. L. Braunersreu ther solemnized the 7 p.m. cere mony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown with a net and lace bodice with a scalloped neckline trim med with sequins. Long sleeves came to bridal points at the wrists. Her shoulder veil was held with a queen’s crown. She car ried a bouquet of pink roses. Joyce Anderson, sister of the bride, was her attendant. She wore a pink taffeta waltz length dress over lace. She wore a pink crown shaped hat matching her pink shoes. Her bouquet was of pink chrysanthemums surrounded with white pom pons. Charles Kirchner served as best man. Ushers were James Ander son and Terry Peterson. Following the ceremony a re ception for 150 guests was given by the bride’s parents in the church parlors. The couple will live in Clear water where the bridegroom is employed. Appelt, Kopejtka Married Saturday In Ainsworth Judy Ann Appelt, Ainsworth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Appelt and Albert Kopejtka, jr., Inman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Al bert Kopejtka, were married Sep tember 2a in the Congregational church, Ainsworth. The Rev. Gor don Jensen officiated at the 2 p. m- ceremony. Given in marriage by her fa ther, tlie bride wore a floor length gown of net over taffeta. The bo dice, covered with lace, was de corated with sequins and seed pearls. She earned a bouquet of red roses with white bows. Joanna Beth Lewis, Chadron, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Deanna Taylor, Ainsworth, was bridesmaid. They wore iden tical sheath dresses of red vel vet and carried red carnation bouquets. Roy Appelt, brother of the bride, was best man. Ushers were Jim Appelt and Gordon Smith. The flower girl, Carol Ajjpelt, wore a white velvet dress with red velvet bows and carried a basket of red rose petals. Brad Davis was ring bearer. Following the ceremony a re ception was held for 125 guests in fellowship hall. O'Neill Locals To Be Honored CHAMBERS — A shower will be held Oct. 13, at 8 p m. at the Methodist church in Chambers for Mrs. Charles Strelow, nee Madeline Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hornby have returned home from a nine day vacation spent in Colorado. Mrs. Marde Shanks of Denver is visiting her sister, Mrs. Sum ner Downey. Rose Coufal of Pueblo, Colo and her sister, Mrs. Peter Ramold of Atkinson were visiting relatives here the past week. Miss Coufal operated the telephone office in O’Neill over 50 years ago. News was received recently of the death of Mrs. Edward O’Con nell, the former Be a Ryan, in Denver. fi*pt. 17. Her lister, Mrs Turn Nolan, the former Nelle Ryan, preceded her to death a short tune before. Another sifter. Mary Ryan, Denver, survives and a sister-in-law, Mr*. John Ryan, Gillette, Wyo Thursday dinner guests of Mrs Lee Brady were Mrs. Bruce Me Elhaney and son, Lincoln, Mrs. Harry Johnson, Mrs John E. Babl ad daughter and Mrs. Ro bert Sholes and daughter. Guests Sunday at the Brady home were Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Binkerd of Hillsboro, Ore. Mr and Mrs. Frank Payne of Bouse, Idaho, were weekend guests of the George McCarthy and Norman Gonderinger fami lies. They had been in Fred ericksburg, Va. Mrs. Payne is a daughter of Bob McCarthy. Her j husband is stationed at the Air ' Force Missile Base near Boise. Eugene Stanton of Sioux Falls, was recently visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Stanton. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Troshynski, Mrs Richard Minton sr., and Ir win Murray went to Olathe, Kan. Friday to help the Richard Min ton jr. family move to Gardner, Kan., to the new home which they recently purchased. Mr and Mrs. Troshynski and Irwin Murray re turned home Sunday and Mrs. Minton sr. remained for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Marston have returned from Yellowstone Park where they have been em ployed and have visited her mo ther, Mrs. Wiley, at the home of Mrs. Lee Brady. They plan to leave later for Phoenix, Ariz. for winter employment. Mrs. Rod Wilmoth is visiting this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lindberg. Mrs. John Blinn of North Platte, who has been at the home of her daughter, Mrs John Stuifbergen, recently left for Norfolk to be with her son. Visiting at the home of Dick Minton is his brother, Pat Min ton, Norfolk. Mrs. F. J. Dishner of Phoenix, Ariz., arrived in O’Neill Wednes day to spend a couple of weeks with the M. J. Golden and P. F. Morgan family.
