Charlotte, Nancy, Karen and Donna Marcellus spent Friday at the home of Bill Tielke while their parents went to Sioux City on business. Golden Rod Garden club met at the home of Mrs. Leon Beckwith Thursday, Sept. 27. Election of officers were held. Mrs. Orville Hitchcock, president; Mrs. Leon Beckwith, vice president; Mrs. Gaines Rzeszotarski, secretary; and Mrs. Bob Martens, treasurer. Next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Frank Hanel. Mr. and Mrs. William Fehrin ger, Bloomfield, were Wednesday and Thursday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Al Havranek. Mrs. Leon Beckwith visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cari Lorenz last Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Deweese and family and Mr. and Mis. Gene Sidak, Long Pine, were last Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sidak. Don Pettinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Pettinger, left for the army, 9ept. 24. He will be sta tioned at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Gaines Rzeszo tarski went to Chadevrek, Mo., with five sisters to visit another sister, Mrs. Ed Boles. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Beckwith and Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Rugg less attended the Corn Palace at Mitchell, S. D. featuring Law rence Welk and his band. Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Carr and family, Amelia, were Saturday night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don ald Marcellus and family. Mrs. Elvon Chace and Mrs. Mc Kathnie, teachers of school dis trict 89, attended the workshop at O’Neill this last weekend. Lower room of District 89 of the Annual club met Wednesday. Election of officers was held. Donna Marcellus, Terri Tielke and Dale Mellor were the pro gram committee. Quiz was won by Jerry Tielke for the supper grades ana Terri won for the lower grades, Mrs. Louis Havranek went with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Evans last Thursday to the Corn Palace at Mitchell, S. D. Ed Winkler and Mary Alice and Christy Cole visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Krugman and family, O’Neill. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Havranek and Mr. and Mrs. A1 Havranek were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Havranek and fami ly, O’Neill. The Rev. Ralph O’Donnell was a Sunday morning breakfast guest of Mr. and Mrs. Leo O’Malley, Amelia. A large crowd attended the Card Party at St. Michael’s hall at the Church of Epiphany Sunday evening. There were 10 tables of pitch and eight tables of pinochle Prizes were won by Emil Heeb and Gene Tunender w pitch and in pinochle they were won by Joe Judge and Leo Hines.
