Judi McLain was maid of hon
or. Her dress of blue tafetta, cov
ered by white lace was fashioned
with a round neckline and full
skirt with a cummerbund at the
waist. Her headpiece was a cir
cle of blue net on a crown of
blue rhinestones. She carried a
nosegay of small blue mums.
The bridegroom was attended
by his brother, Carl Kamphaus.
A reception was held in the
Nels Nelson home Sunday, Sept.
9. Virginia Nelson, sister of the
bride, had charge of the guest
book. Mrs. Joe Wray served the
punch, Mrs. Jack McGrew pour
ed the coffee and Mrs. Carl Kah
lstin and Mrs. Alfred Peterson
cut and served the cake. All are
aunts of the bride. The cake was
baked and decorated by Mrs.
Matt Beha.

Mrs. Bonnie Pospichal, Atkin
son and Fredrick Friedel, Stuart
were united in marriage Satur
day, Sept. 1 at the St. Joseph’s
Catholic church, Atkinson.
The Rev. R. J.. Parr, officiated
at the mass and double ring cer
emony which was performed at
9:00 a.m.
Larry Judge was the vocal so
loist, accompanied by Patricia
Schneider at the organ.
The bride wore a sheath dress
of embossed gold metallic bro
cade on an off-white back ground.
Her small veiled hat was an op
en crown pillbox of golden fea
thers. Her other accessories were
in bone color. She carried a mo
ther of pearl prayer book, a gift
of the bridegroom and wore a
white orchid corsage.
The couple was attended by
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Shald, Haw
thorn, Calif. Mrs. Shald is a sis
ter of the bridegroom.
Don Dickau, Valley and Jim
Friedel, Stuart served as ushers.
They are brothers of the bride
and bridegroom.
A dinner was served at 12 noon
to the wedding party and guests
at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Mrs. Don Kickau, Valley, regis
tered the guests.
Mr. and Mrs. John Friedel were
hosts at a supper in their home
for 61 guests.
After a wedding trip to the Yel
lowstone National Park and the
Black Hills. The couple will make
their home southw’est of Atkin
son where Mr. Friedel is engaged
in farming and ranching.

In Washington
In a candlelight ceremony June
16th at the Calvary Lutheran
church in Aberdeen, Wash. Miss
Shirley Kay Seger, Aberdeen, be
came the bride of LaVerne Riege,
Aberdeen. The Rev. Edward H
Immc officiated at the double
ring ceremony at 8:00 p.m.
Seven branch candelabra with
white candles adorned the altar.
The wedding music was played
by Eric Wickstrom, organist, and
sang by Karen Eyer, cousin of
the bride. Songs were “Because”
and "The Lords Prayer".
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Robert Norton and the late
Ivan W. Seger, Atkinson, grand
daughter of Mrs. Eve Seger. Mr.
Riege is the son of Mr. and Mrs
Edmund A. Riege, Kearney.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her stepfather, Robert
E. Norton. She wore a floor-length
bridal gown of white chantilly
lace bodice which dipped to a flat
tering V at the front and back.
Demure scalloped sabrina neck
line enriched with miniature seed
pearls and sequins. The grace
ful wing skirt was of acetate peau
de soie and had appliques of
matching lace circling the skirt.
Softly draped butterfly skirt at
back waa accented with self bows.
The long sleeves tapered to bri
dal points at the wrists. The floor
length veil was edged with a
pearl blossom head piece. She
wore a pearl neokiace given to
her by the bridegroom and ear
ned a colonial bouquet of white
orchids w.th whi;e streamers on
a white Bible.
Shirley Allen was the maid of
honor and Kay Lord was brides
maid. They wore street-length
dresses of blue nylon net, lined
with blue taffeta, white nylon
net lists and white shoes com
pleted the ensembles They wore
peari necklesses given to them
by the bride, and carried colon
ial bouquets.
Merle Riege. brother of the
bridegroom was best man and
Ivan Riege was groomsman. Ar
thur Riege, Ohio and George
Fisher, Aberdeen, Wash., were
the ushers. Phyllis Stevens and
Judy Bates, Aberdeen, lighted the
candles. Both were dressed in
blue street length dresses.
A reception was held following
the ceremony.
The couple will make their new
home at 817 North Martin Street,
Aberdeen, Wash.

Sioux Falls at 9 a.m. in St. Jo
seph’s Cathedral.

and Mrs. Gustav Schwab, Sioux
Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jur
gensmeier, O’Neill.

length dress with white accessor
ies and carried a bouquet of white
and blue feathered carnations.
James Jurgensmeier, brother of
the bridegroom, was best man.

en by the bride's parents in their
home.

a light blue ballerina length gown
with light blue head band and
veil. She carried a bouquet of
pink and white carnations.

Bowers, Bristow. She wore a yel
low street length dress with
matching head band and carried
a bouquet of white and vellow
carnations
