Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Jarman, Ft. Collins, Colo., were overnight guests Thursday in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wood Jarman. They were enroute home from New York where they had gone to visit their son. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lieswald and daughter arrived in Cham bers Friday from Anchorage Alaska, where he has been sta tioned. He has been separated from the service and the fam ily will make their home here Larry was stationed at Anchorage for about 20 months. They visited the Hilbert Hoge family, Seattle enroute home. Mr. and Mrs. William Renniger and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wyant returned Thursday evening from Riverton, Wyo., where they had spent a week visiting relatives They were guests of the Frances Grubb family. Mrs. Donald May drove to Co dy Friday bringing her daughter, Carol home after having spent the summer there. They were ac companied back by Mrs. May’s mother, Mrs. Florence Chubb, Co dy, who is visiting here. Kieth Newhouse came Wednes day from Lincoln to get his three children, Paul, Norman and Nan cy, who had spent a few days with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Newhouse Bill Logeman learned Friday that the home of his brother-in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Don Beal, Plainview, had burned that day. The fire was attributed to the wiring. Mr. and Mrs. Lou Jones, Ix>ng Beach, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bright, O’Neill, were supper guests and spent the eve ning Wednesday in the Raymond Shoemaker home. The ladies are aunts of Mr. Shoemaker. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bar nett, daughter, Connie and a friend, Mack Shaver, Greeley, Colo., came Friday to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stacy Bar nett, Amelia and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Alderson, Cham bers. They were Sunday dinner guests in the Alderson home, spent Sunday night with the Bar netts and left Monday for home. Mrs. J. E. Grimes left Satur day, taking her grandson, Steve Conley, who had spent the sum mer here, to his home in Mont rose, Colo. Friends here report that Marie Osborne, Burwell, formerly of Chambers, will be teaching the 4th grade in the Fremont schools tliis year. Miss Osborne is a sister of Mrs. Bruce Grimes. Mr. and Mrs. John Taggart, Portland, Ore., who have spent several weeks with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Taggart and Shirley went last week to Plainview for a vis it with relatives. The Chambers Coyotes scrim maged against the Chambers Alumni Friday evening in a prac tice game at the school football field. Relatives at Chambers have learned recently of the approach ing marriage of a former Cham bers boy, Donald Hoge, Seattle, Wash. The wedding is to take place Sept. 14th. The Chambers school and the six other schools in district 137 all opened Monday. Servicemen's Notes . . . James P. Renze, fire control technician third class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman H. Renze, O'Neill, is serving aboard the guided missile frigate USS Leahy, which was commissioned August 4, at the Boston, Mass., Naval Shipyard. Those in the commissioning crew received eight weeks of in tensive pre-commissioning train ing. The Leahy is the first of a new class of guided missile frigates. She is equipped with twin Terrier missiles fore and aft. Enroute home they came by way of Salt Lake City, the Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park. Sunday they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rezac and family at Holdrege. In Puyallup, Wash., the Featherston family visited with an uncle of Mrs. Featherston, Jess Wherly, whom she had not seen for twenty-two years. Bonnie LeMunyan arrived home last Thursday from Omaha after completing a three months train ing course at the Personnel Train ing Institute in Omaha.
