Community day, which is held annually on Labor day was discussed. The smorgasbord will be held in the building adjoining Miller station. The serving hours will be from 4 to 8 with one dol lar for adults and 50c for child ren 12 years and under. Com mittee chairman were picked and they are to meet with the presi dent and her executive board Au gust 22 at Legion Hall at 8:30 p. m. District president, Mrs. A1 Chavet, Plainview was present and gave a talk on the state con vention. Mrs. George Wettlaufer also gave a report on her views of the convention. Lunch was served with hostesses Mines Joe Beviaert, Robert Kornock and Eva Cunningham. Mrs. Wettlau fer won the special prize. The Page MYF met Sunday mght at the Methodist church with 15 members present. Dick Under led the devotions accom panied by Caroline Max and the Rev. Under. Their presentation was one Dick brought back from Mt Sequoia, Ark. He had attend ed camp there for the past week. Dick also gave his report on his week tliere. It was announced that the sub-district swimming party will be held Friday mght at O’Neill. Everey member is al lowed one guest. They will meet at the church and leave about 6; 30 p.m. Robert Asher and Un da Alberts served lunch. Annual Woods reunion was held Sunday at Norfolk with 57 attend ing. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wettlau fer returned home Wednesday af ter visiting Mrs. Tom Wilson, Chadron, from there continued on to Powell, Wyo., where they were guests m the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Asher. They also stop ped at Yellowstone and Estes Park and saw points of interest there. Then they went on to Po catello, Ida., where they visited with Mrs. Wettlaufer’s sister, Mrs. Paul Herod before returning home. Bruce Bowen will attend the Nebraska Conference on the 23rd and 2-Uh of August at the Nebraska Center of Continuing Education. Bruce has chosen George Wettluufer to accom pany him as his sponsor.
