Mrs. Harvey Wakl lef Wednesday with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth Haas and Bryan, Valentine, for a short trip through the Bad lands of South Dakota, Mt. Rush more and other interesting plac es in the Black Hills. At Dead wood they visited with Mrs. Whls uncle, Howard Hallock. They re turned to Valentine Saturday evening. On Sunday Harvey Wahl drove to Valentine to spend the day in the Haas home and when he returned to Atkinson he was accompanied by his wife and grandson, Bryan. Bryan will spend a week or ten days with his grand parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Stein ha user, Tommy and Peggy, en joyed a cook out at the home of her parents in Atkinson, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Johnson last Sun day. Mr. James Burke and son, Scott, Lincoln visited with his aunts, Mrs. Sophia Brown and Frances Sturt, in O’Neill Monday. Mr. Burke was enroute to Craw ford to visit relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wahl and Rusty spent last week end in Atkinson with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed ward Schmuecker and family. The Wahls returned to Omaha Sunday evening. The Atkinson Civic Important Garden Club met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Dorothy Olson. Elmer Allyn was a Friday evening visitor in the Elmer Mc Clurg home in Atkinson. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Upbon spent last week end in North Platte where they visited her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Cobum. The Uptons returned home Sunday. Mr. George Brede, Ainsworth, and William Wefso, Atkinson, went to Grand Island Tuesday to attend an Assessors meeting for County Assessors, in this dis trict. Mr. and Mrs. John Kramer, West Palm Beach, Florida, ar rived this week to visit relatives in the area. They came to also attend the Kramer family re union. They are house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kramer. Amelia News By Mim Florence Lindsey Mrs. Julia White, Watertown. S. D., has been visiting friends in the Amelia vicinity since Thursday. Her daughter and son in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Braddock, were attending the wedding of a friend at Valentine and will return here for Mrs. White to accompany them home to spend the winter with them. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Biglin and baby, George Curran and Anita Elston, O’Neill, visited Mrs. Delia Ernst Sunday evening. Mrs. Stella Sparks, Chambers, was a dinner guest Friday at the home of her niece, Mrs. Tommie Doolittle and family. Mr. and Mrs. Silas Johnston, Holdrege, visited over Thursday night at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Johnston. Mr. ani Mrs. Clyde Widman were visiting her mother, Mrs. D. L. Fancher, Eunice and Virgil near Ainsworth Tuesday. George Chapman, Barbara and Carol, Linton, N. D., came Wed nesday to get his mother, Mrs. Effie Withers, and take her to his home for a visit. Florence Lindsey and Mrs. Delia Ernst were in Atkinson Tuesday where Florence had an arthritis treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Hatch and son returned to their home at Akron, Colo., Sunday of Iasi week after visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Peterson for the previous week. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nielsen, Rodney and Brad, Omaha, visited over the weekend with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Burge and family. Fifteen members answer ed roll call. Mrs. Vem Sageser presented the lesson on Americans of Span ish speaking background. She was assisted by Mrs. Lloyd Wal do, Mrs. Bo Connors and Mrs. Clyde Widman. Mrs. Lew Back haus led the prayer circle. Mrs. Barnett and Mrs. Alice Prewitt served the lunch. At the business meeting plans were discussed for a bazaar din ner sometime in October. Glenn White has been attend ing the Annual Conference of the Free Methodist church the past week. The Conference was held at the Wesleyan Methodist camp grounds near Atkinson due to the damage by a wind storm to the Free Methodist Camp at Ansley. Rev. Ernest Outmliers will leave the Amelia Free Methodist charge to serve at Alma They plan to move in about two weeks. Mr and Mrs. Lewie Nissen Lincoln, visited his sister and brother-in-law. Mr and Mis Frank Pierce over the weekend. Rev. Paul Andre has been as signed to the pastorate of the Free Methodist church. The An dres have four children. He Is a graduate of McPherson.
