William Luben, 83, underwent
surgery in St. Joseph hospital in
Omaha Friday morning. His con
dition is reported as satisfactory.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Luben and
Bernard took him to Omaha
Tuesday from Antelope hospital
in Neligh.
Twenty four to thirty rounds of
boxing are slated Friday night
when Clearwater celebrates the
first evening of a two day sum
mer celebration. Also on the two
day program are a baseball tour
nament, penny hunt, kids races,
a candy queen contest and a car
nival company.
Mrs. Herman Thorne, York,
Nebr., was a recent visitor in the
homes of her sisters, Mrs. Sarah
Mapes, Mrs. Willis Hague and
Mrs. Charles Soderstien.
Mrs. Darrel Peters was able
to return to her home last week
after a two week stay in Antelope
Memorial hospital.
Pvt. Geo. Klabenes spent the
weekend with relatives here.

and Ronnie called at the Charles
Curtright home Sunday morning.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Corder and

home Tuesday after a visit with

We have several showers here
this week and cool weather. Sev
eral night showers were preced
ed by electrical storms that were
of ttie hybrid kind, shaking the
earth with bolts of lightening
reaching across the sky The loss
of 16 head of cattle at the Albert
Sehi farm have been the only
real damage reported so far.
