Riverside News By Mn. Lionel Qatar Ruby, Cleo and Albertu Butler, Omaha, were weekend guests in the Ora Switzer home. They were supper guests in the Leo Miller home Saturday. Mrs. George Keller and child ren were dinner guests Wednes day at the Alfred Napier home. Sherry and Janet Switzer vis ited this week at the Darrol Switzer home in Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Switzer and child ren were weekend guests at the Darrol Switzer home in Omaha. Patty Lofquist had a tonsillec tomy in the Neligh hospital last Monday, she returned home Tues day afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. John Napier and family were dinner guests Sunday at the Ed Walters home, Cham bers. The United Presbyterian Wo men met Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Archie Johnston in the church annex. Ina Bennett was co-hostess. Mrs. Richard Napier lead the prayer group. Eighteen members and one visitor were present. The committees reported on their progress for the mother daughter tea. The Riverside Free Methodist Missionary Society met Friday af ternoon with Mrs. Fern Pollock. Mrs. Leo Miller took Julie Fry, Becky Miller and Barbara John ston to camp Tuesday. Mrs. Alfred Napier had a check up in the Neligh hospital Tuesday morning and she called on Mrs. Lewis Carter in the hospital. The Archie Johnston, Willie Shrader and Lynn Fry families at tended church services in Camp Cleveland Sunday. Mrs. Dale Napier, Mrs. Melvin Napier and Carol Ann, Mrs. Rich ard Napier and girls, Mrs. A1 Anson, Jane and Linda, Mrs. Wal ter Miller, Mrs. Robert McDan iel, Julie and Jody Fry, Sandra Tellander, and Johnny Rutledge attended 4-H judging day in Ne ligh last Friday for the Leaders, 4-H members and their mothers. Mrs. Howard Miller visited Pat ty Lofquist Wednesday afternoon and Jody Fry visited Patty Thurs day afternoon. Mrs. Anna Smith and Ernst Trowbridge visited at the Howard Miller home Tuesday. Mrs. Dewitt Hoke attended East ern Star Kensington at the El mer Bergstrom home Friday af ternoon and also called on Dewitt Gunter. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Johnston and «___ Marilyn, Eddy and Alice Shrader, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shrader, and Gordon and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Shrader joined Flora Young, Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Young and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bus Napier and the Wayne Shra der family for a picnic supper at Ina Bennett’s Friday. Mrs. Keith Biddleccme and Mrs. Earl Pierson visited in Ne ligh Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Miller and family attended church services at Camp Cleveland Sunday. Grant Mott visited last Satur day afternoon in the George Montgomery home. Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Gunter met Estel Gunter and daughter, Ida, in Grand Island Wednesday eve ning. They were dinner guests r riaay at tne L,yie bwitzer home. After a two week visit they will return to their home at Hoquiam, Wash. Kay Breisch, New Castle, vis ited a few days with Slandra Shrader. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Nel son, Plainview, visited last Sun day evening at the Dewitt Hoke home. They took Dewitt ,Gunter to O’Neill to visit Mrs. Gunter who is a patient jn the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. George Montgom ery visited last Sunday evening at the Rol Hord home. Harry and Jon Hiner, EUens txirg, Wash., were dinner guests Tuesday in the Lionel Gunter home. Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Hoke and Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Pierson and family were dinner guests last Sunday at the Earl Pierson home. Mr. and Mrs. Abe Paul and family, McPherson, Kan., visited a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Fink. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Switzer vis ited at the Ora Switzer home Tuesday evening. Norman Bomer, New Britian, Conn., came by bus to Omaha and accompanied the Rev. Regi nald Boorhees, Joelene Feydhtz, Jean Richt, and Peggy Landon to a church camp in the Black Hills. They stopped and called on Mrs. Keith Biddlecome Tuesday noon. Mr. and Mrs. George Mont gomery visited at the Robert Mc Ginn home in O’Neill Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Rii.er and family, Tilden and the Jer ry Meyers family, Wisner, were dinner guests last Sunday at the Rudy Ahlers home. Ricky and Duane Ritter stayed at the Ah lers home the past week while their mother was at the church catnp in Niobrara. Mrs. Floyd Nutt and Ina Ben nett were sniper guests last Fri day at the Archie Johnston home. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vanosdail, Scottsbluff and Mrs. Leslie Cary and Nila called Saturday after noon at the Lionel Gunter home. Orchard News Mrs. Lester Wttbec Dick Peterson and son, Dickie, from Lake Mills, la., stopped here Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lon Sawyer. Mr. Peterson was a teacher in Or chard in 1950. Mrs. Peterson passed away in March of this year. Mr. Peterson and son are on their way to the Fair m Se-, attle and will then go to Lara-1 mie, Wyo., where Mr. Peterson' will attend school. They will re turn to Lake Mills for the coming school year. Mr. and Mrs. Verle Hunstman and daughter, Toni of Stockton, Calif., visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lon Sawyer. Verle grew up in Orchard. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Hunstman,' former Orchard residents. Verle is a Navy career man. Mr. and Mrs Dale Willats and family, Erie, Penn., came Sun day to visit in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs R. A. Wil lata. Mrs Louise Beal was complete ly surprised when her daughters invited several neighbors and friends in Wednesday afternoon in honor of her M»th birthday Guests present were Mme*. R. A. Wil iats, Bertha Grove, Tena Werner, Alfred Nelson, Vem Cleveland, Adah Clifton. Cora Clifton. Ger trude Davis, Lula Barton, Leon Mitchell, Lester Withee and Merle Filkens, Mrs. Homer Barton and Mrs. Waldo Davis, Ewing, daugh ters of Mrs Beal served a lunch and Mrs. Beal was remembered with many gifts and cards.
