Clearwater News Mrs. Charles Curtiight HU n ter &S2M Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sanks left Wednesday morning for their home in North Platte after visit ing Mrs. Sank’s father, William Luben and other relatives. Larry James Britteli spent a few days with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Luben. Workmen began repair work on the river road north of town Thursday. A 24 by 20 bridge is being constructed over the wash out from the recent flood waters. Fields that were beginning to dry got another good soaking over the weekend, and receding waters started on the rise again. Mrs. William Kruger returned home after spending a month in Kearney at the Don Maulding home when Mrs. Maulding under went surgery. The Maudings brought her to Clearwater Sun day. Mrs. William Griffith has re turned from the Tilden hospital. Mrs. John VanVleck, Mrs. Mer itt DeCamp, Mary Helen and Tommie spent Saturday afternoon in the Howard Luben home. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Maulding and Mr. and Mrs. Hal Thompson and family returned home Friday after a two week’s vacation in Washington Mr. and Mrs. Pillip Nore and family, Lincoln, spent the week end in the Simon Nore and Earl Flowers homes. Mrs. Albert Ahlers has been dismissed from an Omaha hospi tal where she underwent surgery. She is convalescing at home. Mrs. Eleanor Craig went to Fremont Saturday to visit in the Lorraine Hemenway home, she will go to Omaha Sunday and leave by plane for her home in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones were the honored guests Sunday when relatives arrived with a basket dinner, to help them cele brate their 30th wedding anniver sary. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schollmeyer, and family Crofton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kreitziger, Ewing, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kallhoff and family, Ew ing, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jones. Mrs. Kreitziger baked the 3 tier anniversary cake. A sister, Mrs. Emil Hledik Clarkson was unable to attend. The Jones were married June 14, 1932 at Ewing, by Father Vanderline. Their at tendants were Mi’s. Schollmeyer, ,-—-. who was present Sunday and Ed Baun, Kansas, who was unable to attend. Mrs. Jones was the former Leuellan Schober. They are the parents of 3 children, Mrs. Richard Kallhoff and Donald and Lewis. They also have 3 grandchildren. Sunday evening the Jones were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Miller near Ew ing. Mrs. Eleanor Craig was honor ed Sunday at the Legion hall when friends and relatives held a bas ket dinner in her honor. Towns of Kinssley, la., Belden, Fre mont, Neligh, O’Neill and Em mett were represented. The af ternoon was spent visiting and each present wrote a few lines to Walter Patras, who is serving with the Marines on Okinawa. Mrs. Craig is the former Eleanor Patras, she now resides in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Utterback, Oregon, are visiting friends and relatives here. Mrs. E. M. Yaryan left by bus Monday for Los Angeles and Sun day will take a plane to Hawaii where she will visit her daugh ter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. John Kruger. Cecil Moser was injured Wed nesday evening, June 13, while haying at the Francis Montgom ery larm. He was taken to Or chard for medical attention. La ter that evening he was taken to a Norfolk hospital where he is undergoing x-rays to determine the extent of his injury.
