“"1—... Ewing Graduation Exercises May 18 EWING — Activities of the 1961 1962 school year at the Ewing public school are drawing to a close. Sunday, May 13, baccalaureate services will be held at the audi torium of the Ewing public school. Dr. William H. Ross, pas tor of the United Presbyterian church, Ewing, will deliver the sermon. The invocation and bene diction will be given by the Rev. P. F. Burke, of St. Peter’s church. May 18, is the date for com mencement and graduation of the class of 1962. The guest speaker will be Marshal S. Hiskey, Lin coln. Other events will be picnics at the Ewing park. May 16 for the high school, seventh and eighth and fifth and sixth grades and May 17 for the kindergarten and grades through fourth. Lynch Christ Lutheran church at tended the Silver Tea at the Spen cer Immanuel Lutheran church Sunday afternoon: Mrs. Bill Elas ser, Mrs. Harold Micanek, Mrs. Dwight Micanek, Mrs. Frank I Fisher, Mrs. Jaike Erlenbush, Mrs. Ed Johns and Mrs. Art Retzlaff. The entertainment was the portrayal of women charac- ’ ters of the Bible by the Spencer LWML ladies. Slides were shown | by Mr. and Mrs. Victor Harley, Cnambers. They were taken by their daughter’s husband, a mis sionary ol Nigeria. Cookies and sandwiches were served at the close of the afternoon. The Spencer Walther League met with the Lynch Waliher League in the Christ Lutheran church basement for the regu lar meeting. Lunch was served by Joe Randy Micanek. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Mulhair were Thursday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Art Retzlaff. Mrs. Earl Moody, Todd and Tracy have spen the last two weeks with relatives. Mr. Moody came on Friday for them. They returned to their home in Whea ton, Minn., Sunday evening. Rebekah Lodge district 39 held their annual meeting Wednesday, May 2 in Orchard from 9 a.m. un til 5. Five lodges were repre sented; Plainview, Niobrara, Or chard, Lynch and Creighton. Those attending from Lynch were Mrs. C. A. Moody, Mrs. Earl Prit chett, Mrs. Harry Mulhair, Mrs. Audrey Compton, Mrs. Rose Wil son, Mrs. Eva Sandberg, Rose Brunson and Mrs. Alfred Ear hardt. Mrs. Floyd France accompan ied Mrs. Reno Boelter to Norfolk Monday to get plants for Mother’s Day. Fred King, Bud Rutledge, Roy 1 Counts, Don Darnell and Earl Pritchett attended the State Fire men’s convention in Grand Is land Sunday, May 6. There were also represetatives from Spencer and Butte. M Mrs. Leman Huber took her V mother, Mrs. George Thayer to the hospital Friday. She is much better. Mr. and Mrs. Leman Huber. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilson and Mr. Nick Baker were Saturday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bus Greene honoring Mrs. Hu ber’s and Mr. Green’s birthdays. Mr. and Mrs. Bus Greene were guests of Pat Osbornes Sunday evening. Mrs. Leman Huber accompan ied Mrs. Roy Mulhair to Butte Thursday afternoon. Mr. Jim Svatos and Mrs. Mary Fusch accompanied Mr. and Mrs., Leman Huber to Niobrara Sun day to visit Mrs. Carl May, who suffered a stroke the first of the M year. She is much better now.
