Word was received by Mrs.
Tom Bishop, Plainview, from her
daughter, Mrs. Gordon Charf
Haber Springs, Atk., that a
daughter was born to Mr. and
Mrs. Larry McDaniel April 21, at
St. Catherine’s hospital in Oma
ha. The baby weighed 7 lbs, 8
oz and has been named Gail
Irene. It is a great grandchild
of Mr. and Mrs. Edd Charf of
Royal, and a great granchild of
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bishop of
Plainview. The grandparents are
Mr. and Mrs. L. L McDaniel of
Scottsbluffs and Mr and Mrs.
Gordon Charf, former Royal
residents. The mother, Gwendolyn
Charf before her marriage, has
been employed as a beauty oper
ator in Omaha.
Jen Southern greeted her par
ents Easier Sunday by telephone
and stated that she and her hus
band, John Kitzmiller, will be
gin a six weeks engagement at
t’he Sands Hotel in Hollywood,
April 30.
Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Dodds had
surprise guests, Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. El
mer Dodds of Albion, Mr. and
Mrs. Orville Dodds and family
from Stromsburg and Mr. and
Mrs. Warren Holan and family.
Dale L Hofwalt, Presho, S.D.,
has been hired as commercial
teacher to take the place of Mrs.
Luettie Snyder, who resigned.
Mrs. O. F. Bartch, junior high
and Mrs. Eleanor Reimer, inter
mediate, have returned signed
contracts. The faculty is now
complete.
Carl Rabbass, Orchard, who
visited in the home of his son
-in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Russell Burch, last week,
returned home Friday.
Mrs. Dale Weber and children,
Wood River, spent the weekend
visiting relatives in Royal and
vicinity.
