The Lact Cry Down by the side of that cruel old cross lingered the mother of Him. Weeping and broken by her loss her eyes with suf fering were dim. Watching that face she loved so dear, seeing the anquish He bore, straining her ears to hear the prayers she heard Him pray beiore. “Father forgive them” was His last heart cry, "They know not what they do”. “My God my God” O! where art Thou, will thou forsake Me too?” Looking down He saw her there. John the disciple so near. Woman He said “Behold Thy Son and Son thy mother dear". i 1 ■ r i _ r _i tv. a iv/v^rv ui tvi owtj/fc ut vi face withering in terrible pain. Feeling the sins of this whole world were there on His shoul ders lain. His heart was broken with the load of it all. He knew the end was near. Now it’s fin ished He cried aloud, and the old world trembled in fear. They pierced His sides, the blood flowed down. Atonement for you and me, for all our sins by Him were borne on that “old rough” merciless tree. “Father forgive them” still rings the heart cry and cleanses the hearts from all sins. Oh! bro ther come to this risen Christ and give your whole life to Him. Della Stuart Eby ST.
