Bca Ate Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Asher and Rusty and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Asher were dinner guests Tues day of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Asher at Atkinson. A “coffee hour" was held Sat urday morning in honor of Shar on Towles, Denver, Clo., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Gross. Among those present were Mines. “Bud” kkes, Nor man Trowbridge, Carl Max, Ro bert Linder, Ron Park, Dick Cun ningham, Morwyn French jr., and Darrell Heiss. Miss Towles is the fiancee of Bill Jackson, a teacher in the Page high school. The Golden Rule Extension club met Tuesday with Mrs. Leila Snell. The nine members pre sent answered roll call by giv ing a suggestion for gifts under one dollar. The lesson on "win dow treatment" was given by Mrs. Carl Max and Mrs. Harold Freemeyer. Mrs. Dale Matschul lat won a special prize. Mrs. Ben Asher will be the April hostess. Twenty-one members answered roll call Friday afternoon when the American Legion auxiliary met at the Legion hall. They de cided to make pajamas and lap robes to be sent to the Veteran’s hospital. Donna Smith, Seal Luebcke and Alvin Crumly were the top three in the Americanism contest sponsored by the auxili ary. Due to the weather and con flicting dates the heart fund par ty was cancelled but anyone who wishes to donate may leave it at Cork’s cafe. Saturday night, a 6:30 p. m. covered dish supper will be held in honor of the Le gion’s birthday at the Legion hall. All Legionnaires are welcome. A soup supper was discussed, a date to be set in the near future. Mrs. William Simmons read a short article on the beginning of the Legion and Auxiliary. Lunch was served by Mrs. Lloyd Cork and Mrs. Simmons. Mrs. Anton Nos sen won a special prize. NOK Club met Thursday after noon with Lura Grass. There were 10 members and one guest. Mrs. Robert Prill present. A family supper was planned for Sunday night, April 1st at the Legion Hall. Mrs. date Wiseman will be the next hostess. After dinner the boys attended the movie. Mrs. C. E. Walker entertained at a "coffee hour” Thursday the following guests, Mrnes. Dick Cunningham, Allen Gross, Ron Park, Norman Trowbridge, Bud lekes, Calvin Harvey, Floyd Frahm, Robert Linder and Carl Max. Mrs. Hal Farnsworth entertain ed the members of the Page Ex tension chib Tuesday. Roll call was answered by giving a "house hold hint”. Mrs. Merwyn French sr. gave the lesson on "window treatment”. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Walker, Cai ro, spent from Friday to Sunday here visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Lyndley Crumly Help-U-Club met Wednesday night for dinner with Mrs. Ethel Waring. The women present spent the afternoon playing cards with Mrs. Otto Matschullat winning a special prize. ,RNA lodge met Wednesday night at the IOOF hall with 16 mem bers present. After the meeting lunch was served by Mrs. John Steinberg and Mrs. Alton Brad dock. East Side Kountry Klub met Wednesday with Mrs. Robert Prill. There were 14 members and 2 guests, Mrs. Lyndley Crum ly and Mrs. A. T. Crumly, pre sent. Roll call was answered by tellisg what they would like to achieve this spring. The lesson on sewing was given by Mrs. Larry Heiss. Mrs. Norman Trowbridge won a special prize. A school caucus was held Tuesday night at the Page school. Mrs. Marvin Stauffer and Mrs. William Sorensen will have their names put on the ballet along with the pre sent board members whose terms expire, R<*bert Nissen anil Warren Oronk. Alvin Crumly entertained a group at his home Friday night. They included Ron Asher, Linda Smith, Bonnie Heiss, Charlene Fusielman, Linda Albert*, Bruce Bowen, Ben Asher, Gene Harvey, Juanita Ragland, Carolyn Max, Bill Jackson and Sharun Towle* Cards were played. Mr and Mrs Edd Stewart and Mickle were Friday night visitors in the Ben Asher home. Get-To-Gether club met Friday for an all-day meeting with Mrs. Jim Ruthers. There were 10 members and 1 guest, Mrs. Du ane Allen, present. The women spent the afternoon socially. They will meet next with Mrs. Roy Grubbs beginning with an afternoon meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Don Troshynski and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roach were guests Friday night in the Frank Belmar home at Ewing Caixls were played. Ensign and Mrs. Dan Johnston arrived here Sunday night at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Harper. The Johnstons were enroute from Corpus Chnsti, Tex., where he attended school. Before arriving here they spent a week visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gor don Harper, in Oklahoma City. They plan to visit other relatves near here, including her sister, Mrs. Jim Jarman, Bassett. The Johnstons after a short stay in Hawaii will go to Guam where he'll be stationed. A birthday “coffee” was held for Mrs. Alton Braddock with the following women helping her cele brate, Mmes. Mabie Smith, Ot to Matschullat, George Clasey, John Steinberg, Anna Thompson, R. F. Park, Lyman Park and Mrs. William Plautz, Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Troshynski were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Troshynski at Or chard. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harmon and family were Sunday dinner and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Kennedy. Mrs. Elmer Trowbridge and Mrs. Merwyn French sr. attended the state convention of the WSCS at Hershey from Wednesday un til Friday. They were house guests of Marie Heiss. Mrs. Stella Russell accompan ied Mr. and Mrs. N. D. Ickes to Atkinson Friday where she spent the day visiting her daughter, Mrs. Elmer Spann. HOA met Tuesday with Mrs. Harry Lamport sr. Mrs. Lampert jr. was a guest. All members but two were present. They en joyed fancy-work during the af ter noon Viola Haynes. Hastings was Ivere visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Haynes, lor the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Smith and family. Nehgh, were Sunday dinner guests of her parents, Mr and Mrs. Earl Stevens. Dennis Ickes and Carl Sojka, students from the University of Nebraska, were borne for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ashei, Mr and Mrs. Harold Asher. After dinner cards were played with prizes won by Mrs. Jerry Asher, Mrs. Calvin Harvey, Don Nissen and Bill Sorensen. Jr. MYF met Sunday night at the Methodist church. Roberta Asher had the devotions and Dale Miller, the lesson. A discussion was held on going to Camp Fon telle to help prepare the ground for camp. A council meeting will be held next Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Neubauer, Pat O’Brien and Oscar Young were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jun Stewart. After dinner Mr. and Mrs Ray Harmon, Mr. and Mrs. William Scheinost, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Landreth and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Kennedy joined the above group for a surprise par ty for Mrs. Glen Stewart in hon or of her birthday. The new and old officers of the Alumnae association met Friday with Mrs. George Clasey. They are Mmes. Jessie Kelly, Richard Heiss, Soren Sorensen jr., Art Grass, Robert Van Horn and N. D. Ickes jr. They will meet again April 9 with Mrs. Jessie Kelly. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Grosse Rhode and grandson, Jim Price, Omaha, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roach. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Richstatter and Jim, Osmond, were also Sunday dinner guests there. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Cronk and family were Sunday dinner guests at the Norman Trowbridge house.
