Mother's March, $100; clubs and

rural $10. The total collected was
$101 54.
Mr. and Mrs. Orville Gillette,
Belle Fourche, S D., visited from
Wednesday to Saturday in the
home of his father, Mr. and Mrs.
C. F Gillette, and his brother,
Darrel Gillette and family.
Victor Harley returned Tues
day from Chicago where he had

Mrs. Lloyd Gleed drove to Oak
land Saturday to spend the week
end with her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Don Prill
and family and to help Mrs. Prill
celebrate her birthday anniver
sary. She was accompanied by
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Grimes, who
were met in Oakland by their
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Milton
Grimes, and taken to her home in
Fremont where they spent the
weekend. All returned home Sun
day evening.

spent the weekend with their son
and daughter-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Grimes and fam
ily, at Milford.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beed
visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

were dinner guests of her niece
and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ar

panied them home for a short
visit.

Arriving last week from Doug
las, Wyo., were Mrs. Harvey
Nachtman, Mr. Sybrant and
daughter. Orva, and Mr. and Mrs.
Dale Radford. The latter visitors
have been guests of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Coolidge; the
others visited in the Hamp Smith
home. All have visited Guy Blake
in St. Anthony’s hospital and with
Guy’s family at Chambers. Mrs.
Nachtman is a sister, Mr. Sy
brant a brother-in-law and Mrs.
Radford a niece of Mr. Blake.
Mr. and Mrs. Radford drove to
Norfolk Friday to attend a golden
wedding observance of his folks.
They plan to return to Chambers
in a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cox and
daughter, Susan, Lincoln, spent
several days last week with his
parents, the Rev. and Mrs.
Charles Cox, and her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tange
man. Mr. Cox was honored at
a birthday dinner Wednesday at
the home of his parents with
the Tangemans as guests.
The meeting of the Woman’s
Society of Christian Service
held Thursday at the Methodist
church opened with a short
prayer service conducted by Mrs.
E. R. Carpenter. The lesson was
presented by Mrs. Fred Catron
and Mrs. Steve Shavlik. Talks
were given by Mrs. G. H. Adams,
Mrs. Darrel Gillette and Mrs.
Raymond Shoemaker.. There was
a discussion period. The presi
dent, Mrs. G. H. Wintermote,
opened the business session with
a brief discussion of a new mis
sionary orientation center at
Stony Point, N. Y. Nineteen
members answered roll call.
There was a discussion of the
annual meeting to be held in
Hastings March 21-23; also on
special memberships and World
Day of Prayer. Lunch was served
by the hostesses. Mrs. J. E.
Grimes and Mrs. G. H. Grimes.

Dale Hixson home.
The temperature reached 80 de
grees here Saturday afternoon.
Just two weeks ago it was mors
than 20 below zero.
Mark Maben spent two days in
the Neligh hospital last week
where he had a check up.
