THE FRONTIER, O’Neill, Nebraska, Thursday, February 1, 1M2 Jo Ann Shoemaker Weds Gerald Schaaf Saturday Morning Miss Jo Ann Kathryn Shoemak er, daughter of Leonard Shoe maker, O'Neill, and Pfc. Gerald Joseph Schaaf, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schaaf, Emmet, were united in marriage Saturday, Jan. 27, at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Catholic church. Msgr. Timothy O'Sullivan offi ciated at the double ring cere mony. Ronnie Clark and Larry VVanser were vocalists, accompan ied by Sister M. Flores. The bride was attired in a sheer taffeta fhwrlength gown with a chapel sweep train. The bodice had a princess style front with a bustle along the hipline, featuring medallions of sequins and pearls. A rounded neckline was embel lished with sequins and pearls while the tapered sleeves end ed in bridal points. The full skirt featured bows in the back. Her brief veil of siik illusion was caught to a headpiece of sequins and pearls. She carried a show er arrangement of red roses. Miss Peggy Sullivan was maid of honor, and she wore a Royal blue satin street-length dress which featured a fitted bodice and balloon type skirt. She carried a O’NEILL PHOTO CO. white fur muff with matching head band. Mrs. Larry Donlin, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Mary El len Shoemaker, sister of the bride, were bridesmaids and their en sembles were identical to that of the maid of honor. Michael Schaaf, Omaha, serv ed as best man. Groomsmen were Gene Shoemaker and Ronnie 9mith. Tom Schaaf, Atkinson, and Richard Shelhamer and Larry Donlin were ushers. One hundred and seventy-five guests attended the reception in the American Legion hall. Mmes. Delbert Robertson, Wally O’Con nell and Jerald Klinesmith pre sided at the table. Serving were Miss Loretta Sherman, Mrs. Mike Schaaf and Miss Ruth Ann Schaaf. Mrs. Ed Murphy, Miss LaDonna McNulty and Miss Shar on Marcellus took care of the gift table. Mrs. Elaine Snowardt had charge of the guest book. The bride attended St. Mary’s academy and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing at Omaha. She has been employed at St. Anthony's hospital. The bridegroom attended O’ Neill public school and is pre sently serving with the United States Army at Fort Knox, Ky., where the couple will reside af ter a short wedding trip. Miss Anson and Richard Elsberry Are Engaged ROYAL — Mr. and Mrs. Dar rell Anson, Brunswick, announce the engagement of their daugh ter. Deanna Marie, and Richard Elsberry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Elsberry, Royal. The bride-to-be is a graduate of the Brunswick high school in 1961, and attended Norfolk Jun ior college the first semester. Her fiance is a graduate of Roy al high school in 1960, and at tended an Omaha trade school. He is currently employed at the Snodgrass Service station in Brunswick. Judy Gay Withers Weds Jack Cole In Missouri ATKINSON — Word has been received of the marriage of Miss JuCv Gay Withers and Jack Cole January 20 in the Baptist church at Stansbury. Mo. Miss Withers is a daughter of Cap Withers, and a granddaughter of Mrs. Matie Hoyt, both of At kinson. The bride was attired in a white brocade dress with match ing hat. She carried a bouquet of miniature red roses. Mr. Cole’s brother-in-law and sister were the couple’s only at tendants. A reception followed the cere mony for the immediate families at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Filkens in Darlington, Mo. Mr. Cole is employed in the personnel department of a con struction firm in Darlington where they will make their home for the present time. Wyatt Exchange Vows The Wesleyan Methodist church in O’Neill was the scene Satur day, Jan. 27, for the wedding of Miss Jo Anne F. Searles, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sear les. Arvada, Colo., formerly of O’Neil], and Larry J. Wyatt, son of Mrs. Wilma Wyatt, O’Neill. Performing the double ring ceremony at 2:30 p.m. was the Rev. Melvin Grossenbach, Gor don. Traditional wedding music was provided by Miss Donna Reimer, Omaha, vocalist, and Miss Marcia Stanley, Lincoln, or ganist. The bride was attired in a gown of silk mist Bombazine and re embroidered rose point lace over Boquit taffeta. The sculptured bodice, highlighted with sparkling iridescent sequins and seed pearls, was fashioned with a scalloped Sabrina neckline. Long sleeves tapered to bridal points over the wrists. The voluminous flounced skirt, worn over starch ed petticoats, was bordered in deep overlays of lace and cas caded into an aislewide train. A jeweled tiara held her shoulder length veil in place. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white feathered carnations. Miss Vekia Ernst, Lincoln, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Paulette Adrian and Miss Shirley Loewen, both of Omaha. Caplets of net and fur muffs trimmed with red feather ed carnations completed their en sembles. Roger Wentworth, Mills, serv ed as best man. The next meeting will be with Mrs. James Hawk February 15. Christian Mothers Meet Ten members of the Christian Mothers club met for the regular meeting at the home of Helen Burk Thursday. Amelia MYF Members Hold Meeting Sunday AMELIA — Mrs. Bertha Sam mons demonstrated how she reads her Bible Sunday afternoon to the members of the MYF and their leader, Mrs. Edith Ander sen. Mrs. Sammons, whose vision is very poor, uses a recorder fur nished by the Blind society. Since Saturday was her birth day the members presented a short program in her behalf. Also present for the affair were Mrs. Lloyd Waldo, Mrs. Lew Back haus and Mrs. May Sageser, who had January birthdays, Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Barnett, Mrs. Vem Sageser and Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Johnston.
