Merrill Anderson Mr. and Mrs. Bill Davids and family, Norwalk, la., were over night guests Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fock en. The Davids were enroute to Denver, Colo., to spend Christ mas. Dinner guests Christmas Day at the ( larence Focken home were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Focken jr and family, Bristow, Bill Focken Hastings, and Doyle Focken, Stu art. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Collins and son, Mark, Omaha, arrived at the Connie Frickel home Thursday. Robert returned to Omaha Satur day and Carolyn and Mark re mained to spend Christmas with her parents. Other Christmas din ner guests at the Frickel home were Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Frick el, Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Omer Poynts, Stuart, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hendricks and Arlin and Henman Frickel. Donnie Frickel, who is in the army at Ft. Ord, Calif., telephoned home Christ mas Day. Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Frickel, Lincoln, arrived Saturday and were overnight guests at the Lawrence Pacha home, coming to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Connie Frickel, Sunday evening where they spent Christ mas. Christmas Day dinner guests at the LeRuy Hoffman home were Mr. and Mrs. Alex Frickel and family, Mr. and Mrs. Berl Bock and family, Ed Hoffman, Vernon Whited, Carl Anderson and Mrs Mary Johnson. Denny Beck, Om aha, son of Mr. and Mrs. Berl Beck is spending the holidays with his parents. Mrs. LeRoy Hoffman entertain ed a group of Gary’s friends at supper Thursday evening in hon or of his birthday. Present were James Poessnecker, Clair Beck, Tommy Rzeszotarski and Jerry Gotschall. Following supper they attended a movie in Atkinson. Clair and Jerry spent the night with Gary. Kay McKathnie spent Thursday night as a guest of Bonnie Frick el. Tuesday evening visitors at the Natchel Rzeszotarski home were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Schmidt and family. Mr. and Mrs. Natchel Rzeszo tarski. Michele and Tommy, Mrs. Bertha Gonderinger and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Van Fleet and family were Christmas Day dinner gjests at the Meals’ home south of At kinson. Mrs. Natchel Rzeszotarski at tended a EVRN Christmas party held December 21 at the home of Mrs. Carl Gettert. A covered dish luncheon was served at noon with a gift exchange and social time following. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hoffman entertained at pinochle Friday evening at their home. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kil murry and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Sicheneder and family, Mr and Mrs. Jim Sicheneder, Mr. and Mrs. Natchel Rzeszotarski and family, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Beck and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Mommsen and family and Mr. and Mrs. John Schwindt and Vanita. Prizes went to Mrs. Schwindt, Frank Kilmurry; Mrs. Rzeszotarski and Duane Beck. Mr. and Mrs. Hans Lauridsen and LeRoy were Friday evening supper guests at the Milton Mc Kathnie home. Darrel McKathnie came home with them and spent the night. The Milton McKathnie family were Christmas Day din ner guests of Mrs. McKathnie’s mother, Mrs. Blanche Rouse, In man. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Risor, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Risor and family and Mildred Keyes. The Milton Mc Kathnie family were dinner guests December 24 at the home of Mrs. Emma McKathnie. Other dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs F.rnip Wondercheck. Palmer Keith Anderson accompanied by a friend, Donnie Friske, Monroe, Wis., arrived Friday evening for a brief visit with Keith’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Anderson. Enroute they visited Mr. and Mrs. Percy Anderson and family at Columbus. They returned to Monroe Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Milton McKath nie and family were supper guests Thursday evening at the Lloyd Evans home. Mr. and Mrs. Hans Lauridsen and LeRoy and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lauridsen were Christmas Day dinner guests at the Lewie Lau ridsen home at Bristow. LeRoy returned home with his parents after spending Saturday night at his uncle’s home. Gerhard Tunink and son, Ray mond, Butte, called at the Hans Lauridsen home Wednesday af ternoon. Raymond plans to be leaving for induction into the army soon. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Anderson and Keith and Donnie Friske spent Saturday afternoon at the Herman Meyer home. Mr. and Mrs. Merlyn Anderson, Debra and Nancy were supper guests Thursday evening at the Herman Meyer jr. home. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hoffman and sons, Dorothy Scott and Clair Beck were supper guests Wed nesday evening at the Duane Beck home. Mr. and Mrs. Hans Lauridsen had as dinner guests Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Lewie Lauridsen and family, Bristow. The occasion was in honor of Karen Lauridsens’ birthday. Kenneth Meyer, who has spent the past two weeks with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Mey er, returned Monday to North Platte to resume work with the State Game commission. Mrs. LeRoy Hoffman entertain ed the mothers of the district at her school Friday. Mrs. Hoffman and her pupils shared a buffet luncheon at noon and gifts were exchanged. They made candy which was later served to their guests. The afternoon was spent playing games. Afternoon guests were Mrs. Rudolph Poessnecker. Mrs. Mike Schaaf and Kathy. Mrs. Dick Wadsworth, Mrs. Ed Walnoffer and daughters. Steve Schaaf and Lois Poessnecker were all-day guests. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hoffman, Gary. Mrs. Berl Beck and Dick Galyen left Tuesday morning on a business trip to Omaha. Chambers News B> Urv E. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Medcalf and family left Wednesday for an overnight visit with friends in Sioux City, la., enroute home to Minneapolis, Minn., after a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Medcalf, and her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Car penter, and with relatives at At kinson during the Christmas vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Stevens and family, Atkinson, were dinner guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Carpenter, on Christ mas Day. Mary Ellen Gillette plans to return to her teaching work in Denver, Colo., Thursday after spending about tw'o weeks during the Christmas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Gillette and Darrel Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Carson and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Durre jr., and family were dinner guests Sunday, Dec. 24, of the former’s mother, Mrs. John Car son, Redbird. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bernhardt and daughter, Traci, Battle Creek, were dinner guests Christ mas Day of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tracy and famiy. Mr. and Mrs. William Reninger spent the Christmas holidays with their son and daughter-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ren inger and family, Columbus, 0. They returned home Friday. Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Beed and children, Chambers, and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Kaup and fami ly, Stuart. St. Paul’s ladies aid met Thurs day, Dec. 21, at the church with 17 members and six children pre sent. Roll call was answered by telling what part of the Christ mas story appealed to them most. Cards were read from the Walter and Brion families thank ing the Aid members for their help with the golden anniversary observance of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Walter. The group sent a Christmas gift to the Lutheran boys in the service. Family night will lie held Thurs day evening, Jan. 28. with a film followed by a lunch. A free will offering was sent to the Child rens Service society. The meet ing closed with the Lord's Prayer A program in charge of Mrs. Lloyd Hoerle, Mrs. Richard Sunderman and Mrs. Charles Schmidt followed. Members of the Aid presented their pastor, the Rev. and Mrs. Roten, with a gift of groceries. Lunch was served by the hostesses, Mmes. J W. Walter, Leo Hoerle, Richard Jarman and Duane Grossnick laus. The Rev and Mrs. Ralph Cooke and family, Sheffield, la., were guests during the holidys of his mother, Mrs I^etha Cooke, and tier parents, Mr. and Mrs. IJoyd Gleed. Other guests in the Gleed home Christmas were their sons in-law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Don Prill and family, Spen cer, la., and Mr and Mrs. Char les Bleven, Lincoln. Robertson and Clar ence Wyant made a trip to Ro chester, Minn., last week to get the latter’s sister, Mrs. Rolland, Brush, Cok>., who had been a patient there for four weeks, they returned to Chambers Sat urday, December 23. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fangeman. York spent part of the holidays with the Bernard Hoffman and George and Don Cameron fami lies. Larry Swanson, who is attend ing college in Chicago, spent about two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Swanson, during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Duane K. Miller and family spent from Sunday until Tuesday of Christmas week with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Richards, at Chadron. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Theise and boys, Ames, la., and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Van Gerpen and daughters, Fremont, spent Christmas with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar DeHart and other relatives. Mrs. Van Gerpen and daughter remained for a week's visit. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Harley. Carolyn and Gerald returned home Friday evening from a five day vacation trip to Arkansas where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Harley and family at Booneville, Ark. Pvt. Roger Harley, Fort Sill, Okla., was al so visiting the Darwin Harleys and returned home with the fam ily for a few days visit. They were Thursday overnight guests at the Lape Lenz home in Lin coln. Carolyn Harley took Pvt. Harley to Omaha Monday night when he left by bus for Fort Sill. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Burge and family were Christmas Day dinner guests of his mother, Mrs Bessie Burge, O'Neil!. Mrs. Ray Siders took her daughter, Marilyn, to Grand Island Tuesday. Marilyn is a stu dent at the Grand Island Business college.
