NOTICE!
It is almost auto license time again. No licenses can be issued
until January 2.
Business hours beginning January 2 for January and Febru
ary will be open at 9:00, open during the noon hour and close
at 4:00 p.m. These hours have proven very satisfactory in the
past and enables us to get the mail out every day and keep up
on the routine office work.
When sending in or coming in for licenses you must have
the following:
Your 1961 registration certificate, all copies of the tax state
ments which ycu will receive from the assessor before January 1,
the correct fee for the tax and the licenses for each vehicle to
be licensed. If by mail add 20c for passenger cars and 10c for
trucks for mailing charges. If you do not bring or send in your
1961 certificate I will have to write for it or $1X10 extra fee for
lost certificate. If your tax statement does not correspond with
the vehicle to be registered or the township, village or school
district are incorrect send or bring the statement to the county
assessor for correction.
All cabin or house trailers must have a permit for $2.00
regardless whether the fee for highway use is obtained or not.
To be used as stationary $2.00 plus the tax. To be used on the
highways $10.00 fee plus the $2.00 fee plus the tax. The $2.00 per
mit must be obtained before March 1. All license fees are the
same as for 1961.
Ple ase do not forget your 1961 registration certificate when
applying for your new license or for a transfer of licenses after
January 1. Without it I must charge $1.00 extra fee. These are
laws which I have no control.
Let’s keep Holt county a traffic fatality zero for 1962 and
hope all other counties will do the same.
