Colder temperatures moved into the Ewing area Friday bringing a snowfall which con tinued through Saturday. Road conditions became hazardous by Friday afternoon and several weekend trips were cancelled. The Sunday temperatures were reported unofficially to be about six degrees below In the morn ing. Ron Brion, a student at the University of Nebraska, spent the weekend at the parental home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Brion. Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Black. Seattle, Wash., called home be cause of the serious illness of her mother at Orchard, also attended the funeral of his cousin, Lester Bergstrom, held Saturday morn ing at St. Peter's church in Ew mg. The Sunday school of the I'nited Presbyterian church will present a Christmas program Monday evening at 8 p.m. A practice is scheduled for Sat urday at 1 p.m. Mrs. Leo Mil ler is the Sunday school super intendent. Mrs. Gail Boies and Mrs. Rose Bauer were Norfolk visitors Tues day. The Christian Mothers of St. Peter’s church met Tuesday eve ning at St. Dominic's hall. Twen ty-five members answered roll call. Each member brought a gift for the Pope’s charity instead of the usual exchange of individual Christmas gifts among the group. Card games were played for en tertainment. Mrs. Pier son was celebrating a birthday an niversary. Afternoon guests Sunday at the Regular Sale MONDAY, DECEMBER 18 Even with the storm we had last Monday we sold over 700 hogs and 550 cattle. The hog market was on fire as they sure wanted hogs. The top at $17.50 went to Charles McDonald of Ewing. All the good hogs brought from $16.85 to $17.40.
