Merrill Anderson The Wesleyan Methodist Mis sionary society held a Christmas meeting Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Charles Phipps with 21 members present Mrs. David Rahn presided Devotions were in charge of Mrs Merrill Anderson. Christmas carols were sung, led by Mrs. Mark Hendricks. Roll call was answered with a scrip ture verse on “Praise”. Following the business session Christmas gifts were exchanged, "mystery sisters” revealed and new names drawn Mrs. Robert Hendricks was honored With the birthday song and a gift. Gifts for the Christmas box to be sent to the Brainard Indian School, Hot Springs. S. D. were placed with the work director. Robert Hendricks spent Satur day at the John Sicheneder home. Victor Frickel accompanied Mr and Mrs. George Albrecht and sons. Wayne and Richard, to Lin coin Tuesday where Richard had a physical checkup at the ortho pe, a friendly D ichshund. MR. AND MRS. JOHN EDZARDS and their daughter, Linda. 14. They also have a son. Ron. 20. who is employed with the state highway department in the surveying department at Lincoln. John, manager of the Safeway store, and his family moved here from Neligh about two months ago and are nicely set tled in their home at 113 S. Harrison. John has been managing Safeway stores 10 years. For relaxation, he enjoys golfing and bowling but his main hobby is woodworking. Cleo spends any spare time she can find in sewing, knitting and reading. Linda, a freshman, likes any kind of sports and is a member of the choir. Phyllts Lewis, teacher m the McKathme school, spent the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Sicheneder while Mrs. Ger old Hitchcock was in the hospital Miss Lewis boards at the Hitch cock home. Edith Chaffin spent the day with Dorothy and Louise Slay maker at the Elmer Siavmaker home. « Mr. and Mrs. John Scbwindt entertained guests at a pinochle party at their home Friday eve ning. The Devall baby was not releas ed at this time. He remained for more care, as he only weighed 2 pounds 14 ounces. Delia also visited her niece, Mrs. Arden Johnson, who is a patient at the Sacred Heart hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Femau had a Christmas dinner at their daughter’s, Mrs. Wayne Kinzie home, Butte, Sunday. The Paddock Community aid J held their Christmas dinner party Wednesday noon at the j Dave Jensen home. After the noon meal they had a gift ex change. Helen Nelson was in charge of the entertainment, fol lowed by an auction sale of the articles they made and the donated articles. A large crowd attended and the articles sold well. The women were well pleased with the attendance and results of the sale. The next meeting will be January 3. The place will be announced later. The Paddock Missionary socie ty plans to meet with Mrs. Virgil Hubby Friday. The young married class held a party at the Delbert Rouse home Friday night. Several of the families were absent.
