A banquet will be held Thursday evening, and the wo men will return to their homes Friday. Servicemen's Notes . . . Army Maj. Jerry L. Lamason, 33, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald R. Lamason, Page, is attending the 3f -week course at The com mand and General Staff College Fort Leavenworth, Kan. The course began August 25. The course is designed to pre pare selected officers for duty as commanders and general staff of ficers at division, corps and field army levels. . .Included in Ma jor Lamason's class are 665 U. S. officers from the active Army. Army Reserve and National Guard, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps, in addition to 85 officers from 43 allied nations. Major Lamason entered the Army in 1944 and has served in the Far East. The major is a graduate of the University of Omaha. Famik, has entered Wesleyan college, Lincoln, where she was presented a scholarship. Miss Famik was an honor stu dent at Verdigre high school, and was co-salutatorian of the senior class. Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid Plan Smorgasbord At the August meeting of Christ Lutheran Ladies aid held at the home of Don Younie, the LWML zone meeting to be held at Christ Lutheran church September 26 was the highlight of the discus sion. Voting delegates were selected as follows Mesdames Harold Mli nar, Robert Miller, Bud Kirig man and Fred Krugman. Alter nates are Mrs. Duaine McKay and Sirs. Durvin Kipple. The date for the smorgasbord was set for October 18. The September meeting was held Tuesday evening at the church parlor:. The meeting op ened with prayer by the presi dent, Mrs. Mlinar. Bookcases have been purchased for the church library. Final plans were completed for the LWML zone rally. Mrs. Fred Timmerman was appointed chairman of the noon meal.
