Lynch News By Mrs. Fred King M. Sgt. Jack L. Wipe and family arrived in tile states July 27 from England where he has been stationed for three years. They went to Washington D. C to get their car and from there went to Detroit where they visit ed Mrs. Wike’s brother and fam ily. They drove on to Omaha where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wike and her two brothers. They spent over a week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Wike. They left Friday noon for Rapid City to visit Mr. and Mrs. Bud Keim. On Monday they left for San Francisco where Jack will be stationed at Hamilton Air Base. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Warneke, Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Bud Keim, Rapid City, came Monday for a visit at the John Wike home. They left Thursday lor their homes. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Wike;, Omaha came Aug 19 to visit the Wamekes at the Wike home. They rturned Monday. John Wike and Bernard iPeklo were in Atkinson Saturday to attend a horse sale. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wike and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Floyd France Thursday evening and were luncheon guests there. They also visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Christensen. Mrs noyti mince anci Mrs. Lewie Christensen attended a par ty at the home of Mrs. Pat Os borne Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Lewie Christensen were sup per guests Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Art Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moffett and sons, Tacoma, Wash., ar rived Monday at the Wallace Moffett home for a few days vis it. Mr. Moffett is a nephew of Wallace Moffett and formerly liv ed at Bristow. Dinner guests at the Wallace Moffett home Tues day were Mrs. Don Johnson, Cor rine Ripj»e and Janice Merryman, Geneva. Milan Trentham, Omaha, was a guest the past week of Grace Mannen at the home of Mrs. Josie Mannen. Before her retire ment Miss Trentham was assis tant superintendent of the Nebras ka School for the Deaf at Omaha. Grace Mannen left Wednesday for Detroit, Mich, where she is a teacher at the Lutheran school for the Deaf. Marjorie McMeen was a weekend visitor in the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McMeen and Mrs. Josie Mannen, Grace and Herbert. Miss Trent ham .and Miss Grace Mannen were guests of honor at a “cof fee’ at the Ernest Darnell home Thursday afternoon. Mrs. R. E. Kriz, Mrs. Glen Stewart and Mrs. Josie Mannen were present. Mr. and Mrs. John Duff and daughter. Dee, Gering, and daughter. Mrs. Ken Losey and son, Trey. St. Joseph, Mo., were weekend guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Darnell. Dr. Dale Bass, Storm Lake, la., arrived August 14 to cover Dr. David’s practice while he is on vacation. Dr. Bass and Dr. Robert Blue have opened a practice recently at Storm Lake. Mrs. Bass is visiting her parents at Cedar Rapids, la., while her husband is here. Joan Birmeier has been staying at the Mel Lueken home. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Birmeier and fam ily drove to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Crawford and daughter at Riverton, Wyo. Sat-, urday. Mrs. Thirza Crawford ac-1 companied them there. They re-, turned Tuesday. Mrs. Herb Whetham and Edith, Omaha, and Mrs. Blanche Whet ham called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Courtney and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Courtney jr. The Courtney jr. family ar rived home from a trip to the Ozarks in Missouri and a visit with his sister in Ottawa, Kan. They traveled in five states dur ing their tour, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Arkansas. Mr. and Mrs. Leman Huber spent Sunday at Pat Osborns. Mr. and Mrs. Buss Greene spent the evening there also. The Hubers were in O’Neill Wednesday on business. Mrs. George Thayer spent Sun day at the Carson sisters’ home. Mrs. Raymond Genser and children, Kansas, spent a week at the Ray Mulhair home. Mrs. Ray Mulhair returned home with them on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Leman Huber were Friday dinner guests at Buss Greenes and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hoffman were supiper guests there. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Moody and family returned August 17 from a 10 day camping trip in Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Seiler and family and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Havranek and family left August 18 for a camping trip in the Black Hills. They visited Joyce McGill while there. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hull and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kal kowski and family, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bjornsen and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hull enjoyed a catfish Sup per at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Spencer and family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hull and family moved last week to the Delbert Hazelhorst home in east Lynch. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Keller vis ited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Heiser. Mr .and Mrs. Emil Hrbek vis ited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Keller Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Marsten, Butte, enjoyed a fish supper at the Guy Keller home Sunday. Mrs. Robert Sliommer, Chad ron, entertained several of her classmates and their babies at the Jake Birmeier home. Those present were Mrs. Robert Court ney and Shari and Carline, Mrs. Ivan Thompson and Cindy and Dennis, Mrs. Carl Weeder and Paula, Mrs. Richard Hull, Dawn and Rick and Mrs. Har lan Heiser and Donna. Mr. and Mrs. George Soukup, Bristow, visited Mrs. Soukup’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Courtney and Carolyn, Harting ton, Sunday. Mrs. F. France attended a housewarming and pantry shower in Bristow for Mr. and Mrs. George Souk up Thursday after noon. There was a large atten dance ad many kitchen and food gifts were presented to the new ly married couple. A lunch was served by the committee. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Kris and children, Gregory, S. D., visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd France Thursday afternoon and were supper guests there Mrs. Kris is a neice of Mr. France. Mrs. Phyllis Mulhair and Dan ny and David and Mrs. Etta Johnson left August 19 for Den ver for a week’s visit with Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Purviance and Bryan and Brad. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Purviance, Reta and Les lie went to Denver Friday for a visit with them also. Mr. and Mrs. Art Retziaff and Gloria and Rodney attended a shower for Phyllis Fuhrme'i, Pierce, Sunday. Lyle Stewart was injured at football practice last week. His ankle was cracked and Is in a cast. Mrs. Carl Conklin injured her right hand when she caught it in the washing machine wringer. Gloria Retziaff sprained her ankle at soft ball practice Friday night. Rodney Retzlaff is staying with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Retzlaff, Chambers, this week and is helping them put up hay. Bruce Schollmeyer will go to Norfolk to register at college this week. Dennis Darnell left Sunday morning for Doane college, Crete Mr. and Mrs. Dean Davy. Jan et, Ruby Kay and Merna visited at the Lloyd Spencer home Mon day morning. Mr. and Mrs. William Stauffer and Scott Grey and girls visited at the Lloyd Spencer home Sun day. Mrs. Gerald Lee called at the Lloyd Spencer home Sunday to gather material for the fair booth. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Davy and family, Denver, Colo., are un iting at the Glen Davy ami Allred Davy homes this week. Mr. and Mrs Roger Davy and daughter, Phoenix, Ariz., are also here vis iting them. A family reunion of the Carl sons was held at Gavins Point Dam Sunday with 50 persons J»re sent. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Craw ford and family and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Coleman and son attended.
