Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Baker and sons left Monday for Fern dale, Wash., where they will spend the next two weeks vaca tioning. They will be guests of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Russ and cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Graves and family. The latter two families are both formerly of Chambers. Mr. and Mrs. Everette Powell. Stromsburg, came Tuesday and will be guests of Mrs. Hattie Tibbets during the fair. Mrs. Powell judged the home econom ics products at the fair. Art Wintermote received his discharge from the army Aug 11. and is at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Wintermote in Chambers. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Campbell and two daughters drove to Wes sington Springs, S D. Saturday where they spent Saturday night and Sunday with her parenls, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Knigge. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Wintermote and two daughters drove to Dun can Sunday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Thorin. The girls remained for a longer visit. Mrs. Ida Anderson, Norfolk, is spending the week with her sis ter, Mrs. Lela Grubb and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Norton Robin son, Lincoln, were over night guests Saturday in the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Covey. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Walter, Missionaries to Okinawa, have re turned to the States. They visited relatives in California and Kan sas and are expected in Cham- j bers this week. Mr. Walter is the I youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Walter. Mrs Rosalie Mulford, Ontario, Calif., and daughter, Patty, ac companied by her son-in-law and daughter, the former Kathy Mul ford and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Sipotswood and Richard will ar rive in Chambers this week to spend a few days with Mrs. Mul ford’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Alder.son. They plan to come by way of Greeley, Colo, where they will visit the Brotherton and Bar nett families. Mr. and Mrs. John Keefer and son, Jimmy, Mc Pherson, Kan., were houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hend ricks from Thursday until Satur day. The Celia 4-H club is planning a picnic at the park in Atkinson Sunday. The Immanuel Lutheran church, Atkinson, had a Sunday school picnic Sunday for the congrega tion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Frickel. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stephens, Council Bluffs, la., were after noon and supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Chaffin Monday. Mrs. Stephens and Mrs. Chaffin are sisters. Mrs. Charles Phipps went to Elgin Saturday and brought her father, Sherman Blow, home to spend the week. Mr. Blow is a resident of the Manor Rest Home in Elgin. Mrs. Mark Hendricks helped her daughter, Mrs. Richard IGin ger, with some carpenter work Wednesday and Thursday. The Klingers are doing some remodel ing on their house in Atkinson. Cecil Little, Madiil, Okla., is spending a few days visiting at the home of his uncle, Omer Poy nts and Mrs. Poynts at Stuart. Several members of the Wesley and Methodist Missionary socie ty, Atkinson helped with clean ing at the Conference camp Thursday. The society was in charge of the noonday meal.
