Betty Meyers, New Mexico, was a guest. Connie Nissen had the lesson. A sub-district swimming party will be held Tuesday at the O’Neill park. A hay ride was planned to be held with the Inter mediate group September it. Peg gy Sue Kelly and Larry Walker were in charge of games. Lunch was served by Kent Stauffer. There will be no MYF next Sun day because of the dedication of the church. They will meet Au gust 27 with Rodney Kennedy and Alvin Crumly having the lesson. Mrs. Robert Linder, Mrs. George Clasey and Robert Nissen, attend ing. Roll call was answered by giving ideas for floats at Page’s annual free day celebration. Mrs. Harrison Hallman won a prize. Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Hill and children. Orchard, were Sunday dinner guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edd Stewart, in honor of Mr. Stewart’s birthday. Mrs. Alton Braddock and Mrs. Gailen Miller were guests Wed nesday when the Bid or Bye club met with Mrs. Jerry Asher. Mrs. Cordes Walker won high score. Dr. and Mrs. E. L. McVaney, Mr. and Mrs. N. G. Meiergard, both from Norfolk and Mr. and Mrs. Willis Rockey, Ewing, were Saturday evening supper guests at the W. S. Simmons home. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harmon and children were Sunday after n<x»n guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vernie Krueger, Ran dolph. Mrs. George Wettlaufer, Andrea and Douglas were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wettlaufer. Susan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Frcemeyer, is spending a few days visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Asher, At kinson. -lane Simmons left for the wj'st coast after spending two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Simmons. Miss Simmons, who has taught in France for the past two years will teach in Long Island. N. Y. Mrs. Otto Matschullat, Page, and Mrs. A1 Anthony, Inman en tertained at a picnic dinner Sun day at the O’Neill park in hon or of Mrs. Dale Matschullat’s and Terry Anthony’s birthdays. Also there were the husbands and the children of the above named. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wettlau fer, O’Neill, and Mrs. Joe Strong. Norfolk, were Wednesday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wettlaufer. They also visited in the George Wettlaufer home. Mrs. Dan Troshynski and Mrs N. D. Ickes accompanied Dennis Ickes to Gordon Saturday where they were supper guests of Mr and Mrs. Don Malmberg. Mrs. Ickes remained overnight with the Malmbergs. Dennis and Mrs Troshynski continued on to Alli ance where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Powell. They returned home Sunday, accompan ied by Mary Jo Powell and Di ane Kemper who had worked out there all summer. They returned to Gordon in time for dinner. Mrs. Ickes accompanied them here. Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Kemper and Lynette, Osage, Kan., were Thursday night supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Asher. On Thursday night Mrs. Will iam Buxton was pleasantly surprised when she picked up the phone and found herself talking to her son, Richard, who is a first lieutenant stationed in Germany. He called to speak to his wife who is here visiting with the children from Omaha. Mrs. Buxton expects to join her husband in the near future. Mrs. Frieda Asher entertained the members of the SOS club starting with a 6:30 supper. Cards were played afterwards with Mrs Hester Edminsten winning a prize. Mrs. Kitty Fry, Ewing, spem from Tuesday to Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lee Fink to help take care of the new baby. A picnic supper was held last Tuesday night at the park with Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Asher and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Fus selman and family, Major and Mrs. Lynn Lamason and family and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lama son attending. Mr. and Mrs. William Ragland, Royvan and Juanita were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Barch at St. Paul. They also vis ited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Mitchell. Mrs. Melvin Fisher and child ren, Wakefield, were Tuesday guests of her mother, Mrs. Ber tha Prill, as well as other rela tives. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wettlaufer and Gary, O’Neill, were Sunday evening callers in the Kenneth Wettlaufer home. Linda Jo Sukup, Council Bluffs, is spending a few days visiting in the Delbert Anson home. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Pruss and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Treese, both of Orchard, were Sunday evening visitors in the Otto Matschullat home. Mrs. A1 Hamik, O’Neill, Mis. George Winkler, O’Neill. and Mrs. John Gallagher, Inman, were Tuesday callers of Mrs. Em ma Kemper. Mrs. J. W. Finch. Steve and Gary Waring and Mrs. Ethel Waring visited over the weekend with relatives in the Fairbury and Tecumseh areas. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pease, Ni obrara, were Wednesday callers of the Gerald Warings. Mr. and Mrs. Merwyn French sr., accompanied by Mrs. Duane Dorr and children, Flint, Mich., left Friday to visit a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Frels in Hershey. Mrs. Frels and Mrs. Dorr are sisters and the daugh ters of the Frenches. Mr. and Mrs. Merwyn French jr. and girls spent the weekend in Oakland with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Olson, and attending the Olson reunion Sun day. Stephanie and Julie French remained with their grandparents. Dr. Robert Tublin, Dr. Morton Burleigh and Ada Pink, all from New York City, were weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Simmons. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Goin and Mark, Wayne, were also guests of her parents. The regular meeting of the American Legion auxilary was held Monday night at the Legion hall with 19 members answering roll call. The president, Mrs. William Simmons, appointed Mrs. Tony Mudloff as membership chairman. Mrs. Lloyd Cork and Mrs. Harry Thomsen wall assist her. It was announced that Oc tober 1 wall be the date of the district convention to be held at Pierce. The members voted not to hold a smorgasbord this year on Labor day but instead to have a food stand. Hostesses were Mrs. Kenneth Asher and Mrs. Calvin Harvey. Mrs. Jerry Asher won two prizes. Mrs. Ben Asher, along with ot her correspondents, spent an en joyable afternoon last Wednes day as the guest of Bill Richard son. Frontier publisher, for lunch eon and a tour of the office. Last Monday night supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Landreth were Mrs. F. W. Hen drichs, 0 ’Neill, Mr. and Mrs. George Hendrichs and family. Omaha, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harmon and family. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Summers are taking care of the Davis children while their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Davis, are on va cation on the east coast. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Asher and family, Atkinson, were Fri day night supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Harvey. Neighborhood club met Wed nesday with Mrs. Ed Eggan. The women spent an enjoyable after noon in reminiscing about their childhood days. Mrs. Glenn Har ris won a prize. The club will meet next with Mrs. Duane Finch. Dick Cork brought a houseguest home for the weekend, Dwayne Fleming. He and Dick are em ployed at Tripoli. Ia. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cork and boys and Dwayne Fleming along with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Fussel man and family enjoyed a picnic dinner on the Fusselman’s lawn. In honor of Milo Landreth’s birthday Friday night Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harmon and family were guests of the Landreths for supper. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roach and Mr. and Mrs. D;m Troshynski ■were Monday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Belman, Ewing. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Berner and Susan, York, were Monday night supper guests of Mr. and Mrs Ray Harmon. Major and Mrs. Lynn Lamason and family left Sunday for Ft. Leavenworth. Kan. Lynn and his family spent their vacation here. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lamason. Mr. and Mrs. John Stelling and Mrs. Carl Nelson, Orchard, were Tuesday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Butler. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Max and Mr. and Mrs. Don Nissen Sunday had supper and went bowling in honor of the Don Nissens’ 17th wedding anniversary. A special meeting of the Im provement club will be held Monday to make plans for the Iutbor Day celebration. Janice Crumly returned to Om aha Sunday after spending two weeks here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Crumly. Mrs. Dora Cannon and daugh ter, San Jose, Calif., spent Wed nesday visiting at the W. S. Sim mons home. Mrs. Roy Grubbs entertained the members of the Get-Together club at Page park Friday. Mrs. Otto Matschullat was a guest. The nine women present enjoyed a social afternoon. Polly, Ruby, Phil and Kelly Mossman returned to their home in Tekamah Friday after spend ing two weeks visiting their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Er nest Brunckhorst and Mrs. Leo Mossman and other relatives. They accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Tom Clark and family to Tekam ah. The Clarks visited over the weekend in the Mossman home. Marilyn Siders, Karon Brown and Gene Butterfield, students at Grand Island business school, spent the weekend visiting their parents, Mrs. Ray Siders, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Butterfield. Barbara Keil returned Wednes day from St. Anthony’s hospital, O’Neill, where she received med ical treatment. Mrs. John Buhlmann and son, Bartlett, visited in the James Banks home Friday afternoon. Joe Peters. Norfolk, spent a couple of days last week with his family. Mrs. Edna Shirley and daugh ter, Newcastle, Wyo., came Sat onlay to visit her mother. Mrs. Myra Fairbanks. Mrs. Frances May and daugh ter Jean Ann have moved their trailer house from the John Gal lagher farm to the east part of Inman. Mrs. May will be em ployed at the Inman school this coming school term. Mrs. James TMcMahan attended a state meeting of Symphony Chapter OES Thursday evening in O’Neill. Mrs. Violet Sholes and Ralph and Rufus Sholes have moved to the property in the south part of town. Ralph recently purchas ed the place from Mrs. Helen Sholes. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tjessem ami daughters returned to their home in Maywood, 111. Monday after spending a week with Mrs. Tjes sem’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Clark. Ruby 9cholz, Neligh, came Sat urday to visit her mother, Mrs. Harry Kestenholtz and other re latives. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sobotka and family, Columbus, spent a few days last week visiting Mr. So botka’s father, John Sobotka. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hayden and family left Thursday for their home in Denver, Colo, after vis iting in the George P. and George L. Colman and Kenneth Coventry homes. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kelly and family and Mr. and Mrs. Don Lichty, Wisner, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Abney. Janet Kelly, who has been visit ing in the Abney home, return ed to Wisner with her parents. Gene and Gib Kelly remained for a longer visit in the Abney home. Harold Sobotka, Valentine, spent the weekend visiting his fa ther, John Sobotka. Ann Kelley, returned Sunday from Lincoln where she has been visiting her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. James Kelley for sev eral weeks. Judy Pullen, Clarks, was a weekend guest of Marilyn Siders in the Mrs. Ray Siders home. The girls attend Grand Island Busi ness school. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hull, Lynch, visited Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rey nolds and family Friday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Rosen daal and Crystal Miller, Neligh, were Sunday dinner and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Reynolds and family. Sharlene and Nyla Reynolds and Kathy Fick took part in the prefair day at the school audi torium in O’Neill Thursday. In the evening, Mr. and Mrs. Wal ter Fick and family and Mrs. Reynolds and Mrs. Faye Pinker man attended the style revue in which Sharlene, Nyla and Kathy took part. Daughters of Zion of the RLDS church met with Mrs. Roy Ste wart, Page, Tuesday evening for their regular meeting. At the close of the evening Mrs. Ste wart served lunch. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Youngs and family, Independence, Mo., are spending a few days visit ing Mr. Youngs’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Youngs.
