A recent prairie fire at night in that vicinity caused them to realize their need for protection. Mr. and Mrs. James Spindlcr and Joan, Detroit, and neice of Omaha were Friday dinner guests at Elmer Devalls. Mr. and Mrs. Don Knaub. Gor ing, are spending their vacation here with Mrs. Knaub’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orton Young. Mr. and Mrs. Axel Borg and Mrs. Larry Kirwan and children were Sunday evening visitors at the Sam Robertson home. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Armfielri, Naper, spent the weekend with Carrie Hood and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fox. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hood and family, Wisner, visited Sunday and Mrs. Hood and Mrs. Fox visited Mrs. Lloyd Gallagher, Rock Falls, Wednesday. A group of relatives gathered at the park in O'Neill, Saturday evening for a picnic supper in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Do lan, Steve anl Mike, Folsom. Calif., who are visiting here. Community friends express their sympathy in the death of Mrs. August Karel, Boulder, Colo. For many years the Kar els made their home in this community.
