Stuart News By Mrs. Herb Skaia Sr. Auxentia Celebrates Her Silver Jubilee Sister Mary Aidan, Glen Ellyn, 111., and Sister Mary Auxentia, Milwaukee, Wis., arrived Friday for a visit with their mother, Mrs. Nick Simons and other rela tives. Sister Auxentia recently celebrated her silver jubilee as a sister of St. Francis. Upon her return to Milwaukee she and sev eral other sisters will go to Costa Rica where they will be stationed for sometime. Also visiting at the Simons home over the weekend were Joe and Edward Deermer, Omaha, Bernard Deermer, Lan der, Wyo., and Mr. and Mrs. Mil ton Hyatt and family, Hyattville, Wyo., all sons and daughters and daughters of Mrs. Simons. Kaup, Nevada, Mo., and daughter, Mrs. Peter Krivena and four sons, Kansas City, Mo., were last week visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Batenhorst. Mrs. Kaup and Mrs. Batenhorst are sisters. Connie Coufal spent the week end visiting at home and is now employed at the county treasur er’s office at O’Neill. Mrs. Ed Coufal visited Monday and Tuesday, July 31 and August 1 in Clearwater and Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Everett and children of Ft. Crook arrived Fri day evening for a two week va cation with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cadwallader and relatives at Stu art and with Mrs. Bea Everett and relatives at Atkinson. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bothel, Ft. Scott, Kan. were Saturday over night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cadwallader. Sundav evening callers of Mr and Mrs. Terry Wilson were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cowles. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cadwallader and children left J'oly 28 and spent a week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Art Cadwallader and child ren at Wahoe, Mont. They toured Yellowstone Park, and also vis ited Mr. and Mrs. Myron Papke and Lloyd and Mr. and Mrs. Les ter Papke and daughter at Billings, Mont., and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hoffman and children, Powell, Wyo. Enroute home they visited Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stewart at Glenrock, Wyo., and were overnight guests Sat urday of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cadwallader and family at Gor don. They returned home Sunday. A family dinner was held Ju ly 30 to help Mrs. Josephine Timmerman celebrate her 81st birthday at her home. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Francis Higgins, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Higgins and Tommy, all of Jamison, Mr. and Mrs. Don Sehock, Naper, Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Timmerman and Lois and Tom Tiefenthaler. Butte. Mrs. Mary Henning, Atkinson, came Friday to spend sometime in the home of her daughter. Mrs. G. L. Obermire. Thursday steak supper guests of Mrs. Mary Ellenwood, Atkin son at her cabin at Long Pine were Mrs. Wilfred Seger, Mrs Jack McGrew, Stuart, Olga Han son, Atkinson and Leona Allyn. Bassett. Monday morning callers of Mrs. Hattie Fox were Mrs. Earl Brown, Omaha, Mrs. George Ley bo, Council Bluffs, and Neva Menkins, Norfolk. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dobrovolny and boys were Mr. and Mrs. Louie Steinhauser and Tony. The occa sion was to help Louie celebrate his birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Engler re cently visited their grandson, Tommy Schmit at the Atkinson hospital where he is receiving treatment for a broken arm. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Engler, Stuart, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo nard Engler, Jimmy and Mike, Omaha, were August 2 supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Schmit and sons at O’Neill. Mr. and Mrs. G. Gill and fam ily spent Sunday at Fort Randall Dam. Donna Goebel accompanied the Gills. Nola Obermire, Lincoln, spent last week visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Obermire. Her niece, Terri Kay Scott, accom panied her. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Engler, Jimmy and Mike, Omaha arrived July 30 for a week’s vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Engler and other relatives, Mr. and Mrs. En gler and the Leonard Engler fam ily, Omaha, were Thursday after noon and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Straka and fam ily. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Patterson, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Bartlett and children, Den ver, who are visiting here, spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Sioux City visiting relatives. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Heyne and fam ily were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Babl and family, Newport. In addition to the members of the American Legion Color Guard and Firing squad and their wives who attended the State American Legion convention at Grand Is land last weekend, other Stuart people at the session were Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Patterson and Leona Jauernig, and Bob Bray ton and Lawrence Hamik, who at tended the last two days of the convention. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bartlett and son, James, and daughter, Rebecca, Denver, are guests this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Patterson. James will remain for a longer visit with his grandparents when his family returned home. Beverly Gillispie, Des Monies.
