Grosse Reunion Held Sunday; 73 Attend There were 73 persons in at tendance at the third annual Grosse reunion which was held Sunday at the Municipal hall in Creighton. Alvin McElhose, Norfolk, was elected president; William Gros se, Orchard, was re-elected vice president, and Mrs. Eddie Blair, Creighton, is the new secretary and treasurer. Kentucky, North Dakota and California. Navy Recruiter Here Bill Irvin, U. S. Navy recruiter, will be at the Elkhom motel in O’Neill between the hours of 5 p.m. July 17 until 10 a.m. July 18. O'Neill Locals Theresa Pribil was a guest Sun day at the Bill Ackman home in Oakdale. Mr. and Mrs. D. D. DeBolt spent Friday in Newport where they visited with her aunt, Mrs. Ray Rupert, Edmond, Canada, who had returned for a visit. This was Mrs. Rupert’s first visit to Newport since 1912. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. DeBolt attended a reunion of his family in Gordon. The DeRolts recently returned from a trip to Chicago where they visited their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Krause and family and became acquainted with their new grand son. Sons Are Honored The young sons of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Nekolite, Dennis, 3, and Danny Lee, 4, were guests of hon or at a birthday party Wednes day afternoon at Ford park. Sullivan and daugh ter, Chicago, are visiting friends in O'Neill. Mrs. Sullivan is a for mer resident of this city, having served as postmaster at one time. Services Held At &oycsf for R. E. Trautman ROYAL — Funeral rites were held Thursday at the Methodist church in Royal for R. E. Traut man, 78. who died July 2 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Geers, in Garden Grove, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Trautman were visiting in California when Mr. Trautman was stricken with a heart attack. The Rev. Duane Lenz officiated at the services. Interment was in the Pleasant Valley cemetery. Rolla E. Trautman was born to Peter and Molly Trautman December 15, 1882 on a farm near Royal. He grew to maturity here and attended the Pleasant Valley rural school. He operated a well drilling and repairing business in Royal for 53 years, and was en gaged in this business until his death. For 27 years he was a mem ber of the town board in Royal. He was married May 24, 1910 to Ann Voorhies. Two children were bom to this couple, a son, Raymond who died three years ago, and a daughter, Marie. Survivors are his wife, Ann; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Geers; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and two sisters. Mrs. Edd Barton, Orchard, and Mrs. W. A. Ingram. Boulder, Colo. Holt County Board of Supervi sors met in Special Session. Meeting was called to order by the Chairman. Motion by McConnell, seconded by Dierking, that the following Resolution be adopted. RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Holt County, Nebraska, that for all County purposes, the population of Holt County for the year Jan uary 1, 1961 to December 31, 1961, be, and the same is hereby set and fixed at 13,722 persons. A roll call vote on the motion for adoption of the resolution re sulted as follows. AYE: Harlan A. Dierking, Edw. N. Flood, Wal ter A. Smith, Clarence Ernst, Frank Cronk, Eli McConnell. NAY: None. The proposition having received the affirmative vote of a ma jority of the Board, the Chair man declared the same duly pass ed and adopted. Applications were received for County Judge from the following: Frank Cronk and Ralph Walker. Ballots were passed with Ernst and Dierking as tellers. Voting resulted as follows: Crank- 5; Walker- 1, wifh Cronk not voting. Motion by McConnell, seconded by Ernst, to adopt the following Resolution. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, a vacancy now ex ists in the office of County Judge of Holt County. BE IT THEREFORE RESOLV ED by the Board of Sufiervisors of Holt County, that Frank Cronk of Page, Nebraska, be, and tie is hereby appointed as County Judge of Holt County to fill such vacancy, and until the holding of the next general election or un til his successor is elected and qualified. The foregoing resolution hav ing been duly introduced and mo tion and second made for its adoption, a roll call vote was ta ken thereon,, which resulted as follows: For said Resolution: Eh McConnell, M. RESOLUTION WHEREAS it has come to the attention of the Board of Super visors that existing appropriations in the County Budget for the year ending June 30, 1961, are insuffi cient to continue the operation of the office of the County Judge, and that additional appropria tions are required to be made for the balance of the fiscal year 1960 to such funds, and that the same are essential to the preser vation and maintenance within the county of the administration of justice. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF HOLT COUNTY, that an emergency does exist as set forth above, and that there is hereby appropriated to the office of the County Judge, the sum $300.00 from the General Fund of said County for the Balance of the Fiscal year ending June 30, 1961.
