The hostesses were the membrs of the Victory Home makers club. Twenty eight guests attended. Games were played and lunch was served. Miss Havranek will marry Mark Fehringer of Bloomfield June 29 at the Church oi The Epiphany at Emmet. Emmet Little League baseball team played Ewing last Monday night. The game ended, Ewing 11, and Emmet, 4. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tunender, Dolores, Bob and Gene called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don ald Marcellus and girls Thursday night. The Tunenders also called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. iNick Ramold and family of O' Neill Friday evening. Mr and Mrs. Kenny Ruggless and Ronnie went to Neligh Wed nesday. There they visited Mrs. Kenny Ruggless grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Young. On their return they stopped at Clearwater and Mrs. Georgis Wiegand accompanied them home to visit until Sunday. She is a for mer neighbor of the Ruggless. Mrs. Bernard Pongratz spent a day last week with her mother, Mrs. William Grutsch of O’Neill at St. Anthony's hospital. Mrs Sadie Schultz and son, Capt. Elvon Schultz came Thurs day to visit Mrs. Schultz’ sister, Mrs. Charley Abart. Mrs. Schultz will remain here with the Abarts. Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Peters and family were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tunender and family in honor of Bobs birthday. The evening callers were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stes kaj and family. Mrs. Feme Livingston has entered the Methodist hospital in Omaha where she had sur gery Monday morning. David Clark called at the home <»1 Ronnie Ruggless Saturday morning. Emmet Little League baseball team played Chambers Friday night at Chambers. The game ended with Emmet, 9, and Cham bers, 11. Rosine and Georgia Ramold. Nebraska City, were weekend guests of Mrs. Joe Ramold, Hu bert and John. They visited ot her relatives here and returned home Sunday afternoon. Mrs. K. Ruggless was hostess to the Mary Martha circle of the Atkinson Presbyterian church Thursday evening. There were nine women present. Mrs. Char les Shane was the leader of the lesson. Next meeting will be with Mrs. Eton Rzeszotarski. The les son was about “The Good Shep herd”. Mrs. George Pongratz and Mrs. Agnes Heeb of O’Neill called at Mrs. Joe Pongratz’ Wednesday. In the afternoon they called at the home of Mrs. Ray Pettinger and Mrs. O’Donnell. Supper guests Friday evening at the Kenney Ruggless home were Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Shell ha.se of O’Neill and Capt. Dona Shellhase, who returned a week ago from two and one half ytiars in the Army Nurse Corps near Frankfort, Germany. After her furlough, she will report to El Paso, Tex. After supper she showed slides of her travels in Europe. Others enjoying the slides were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Houts, Frank Hanel, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ries, Mr. and Mrs. L. Beckwith and Rodney Stole part of Newport. I.uneh was served. Mrs. Joe Pongratz visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Winkler Saturday. Mrs. Robert Hanus and children of Omaha are also visiting the Winklers. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Beckwith went to Minden Thursday where they toured the Pioneer Village. On their way home Friday they visited Mrs. Beckwith’s uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Park Young and Pete Owens. Summer school picnic was held at the Church of the Epihany at Emmet Sunday. The afternoon was spent playing games and baseball. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Beckwith returned to their home in O’ Neill Saturday. Gary had re cent surgery at the Methodist hospital in Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Rawlins Paul of Missouri Valley, la., came with them. Mr. and Mrs. Art Holz and family of O’Neill called at the home of Mr and Mrs. George Babl Friday. Celia News Mrs. Merrill Anderson Mrs. Hendricks And Daughter Return Home Mrs. Robert Hendricks and baby daughter, Rhona, returned Friday from the hospital. Ro bert’s mother, Mrs. Mark Hend ricks had prepared the noonday meal for the Hendricks family upon their return home. There to greet the new member of the Hendricks household, besides the grandparents, were Markita Klinger and son, Terry of Atkin son and Johnny House who is staying at the Mark Hendricks home. Mrs. Ernie Wondercheck and son, Eugene, of Palmer brought her grandmother, Mrs. Emma McKathnie, home Monday and were overnight guests Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mil ton McKathnie. Mrs. Hans Lauridsen and sons. LeRoy and Bobby, left for York to visit her mother, Mrs. Mann, and to attend the family reunion of the Mann decendents. Mrs. Omer Poynts visited at the Robert Hendricks home Fri day and made the acquaintance of the new great granddaughter. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyer and daughter, Beverly, spent the June 16-17 weekend visit ing Kenneth Meyer, who Is em ployed with the State Game 1 Commission and stationed at North Platte. The Meyer fami- | ly engaged in some fishing while gone. Among their catch were three catfish weighing eight, three and two pounds. Enroute home they visited at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Wayne Hall, who had just re turned from a trip to the Holy ' Land where they had attended the National Sunday School Convention as delegates of the Assembly of God churches. The Rev. and Mrs. Hall are former pastors at the Assembly of God church in O’Neill. Frances Chaffin of Blair spent the weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Chaffin. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Ernst of Manhattan, Kan., accompanied by Mrs. Ernst’s brother, David Bench of Albion, were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. Ernst’s sister, Mrs. Robert Hend ricks and family. Mr. and Mrs. Connie Frickel and son, Kurt, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Collins of Omaha visited at the Robert Hendricks home Friday evening. Dinner guests Wednesday eve ning at the Alex Frickel home were Mr. and Mrs. Eli McCon nel, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sichene der and Joe Vacek of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kilmurry and daughters, Kathleen and Maureen, of Milwaukee, Wis., spent Thursday visiting at the Frank Kilmurry home. The men i are cousins. Mrs. LeRoy Hoffman and Roger took Mrs. Butolph and Ray Rose to Lake Andes Thursday morning to meet the bus going to Mitchell where they will visit a sister, Mrs. El ma Olson, before returning to their home in Minneapolis, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hoffman and sons, Garry and Roger, at tended the ball game in Atkinson Wednesday evening. The Pony league played the O’Neill Colts. Roger is a memher of the Pony League team. Mrs. Emil Cilfack attended a pre-nuptial shower for Miss Carol Mitchell Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Wilford Arp. About 15 guests attended. Mrs. LeRoy Hoffman attended the Legion auxiliary meeting in Atkinson Wednesday evening. The new officers were installed. Mrs. LeRoy Hoffman and sons were supper guests Monday eve ning at the home of Mrs. Alice Hill in Atkinson. They later at tended the Little League base ball game at Emmet. Garry is a member of the Atkinson team. Mr. and Mrs. Connie Frickel took Dr. ajid Mrs. John Suther land to Broken Bow Tuesday where they entrained for their home at Nampa, Ida. They planned to visit at various IH)ints along the way. Dr. Sutherland will teach at North west Nazarine college this coming year. Cheri Summerer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Summerer of Ewing, is spending a few days this week with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Chaffin. David Frickel accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Focken and family to the closing ser vices Sunday at the Cleveland Bible camp. Glen Frickel, who attended the final three days of Junior camp, returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Anderson and girls were Sunday visitors at the Merril Anderson home at Atkinson. An old fashioned charivari is planned for Monday evening, while they are visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nelson. A reception is planned for the newlyweds Tues day evening at the Wesleyan Methodist church in Spencer. They plan to leave for Omaha the later part of the week. The community was well re presented at the wedding of Carol Mitchell and Bennett Devall at the Butte Community church Sat urday evening. Isla Mae Ruda of Bristow has accepted the position as teacher in the new school district known as No. 1 for the coming year. Mr. and Mrs. Junior Wyant and family from California are visiting friends and relatives this week. His father is Frank Wyant and her mother’s maiden name was Mable Ross. Mr and Mrs. Dale Roberts and boys spent Sunday in Chadron visiting with Mr. Roberts’ father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Roberts, and also his brother. Steve Roberts and family of Washington. Mrs. Austin Searles and girls and Mr. and Mrs. Craig Conneil were Friday dinner guests at the Clarence Ernst home. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Searles of Arvada, Colo., met Joan Searles of Omaha at Percy Andersons (Ilene Searles) at Columbus Fri day and she accompanied them to O’Neill Saturday where they were weekend guests at the Aus tin Searles home. Mrs. Elsie Eppenbach. who has been taking care of “Grandma” Hull, left Sunday. She planned to spend a few days with rela tives in O’Neill and accompany Mr. and Mrs. Frank Eppenbach to California June 28. A surprise birthday party was given for Pam Crawford on her ninth birthday Thursday at the Ted Craw’ford home. Those at tending were Georgia, Barbara, Debbie mid Kicky Mellor, Johnny, Kathy, and Peggy’ Prouty, Marilyn Miller, Evelyn Barta. Judy, Kathy and Joyce Searles and Carolyn Wither W’ax. Cindy and Kenny Huston spent several days last week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Schmitz. Twila Hicks from Bristow was a Friday visitor at the Elmer Devall and Delia Harrison homes. Lois Hull of Chicago telephoned her father. Loyal Hull, Monday morning and Gaylen of Primgar, la., phoned Tuesday wishing him a belated Father’s day greeting. Tenn., Friday to get a trailer house for Bob Sanders. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Schmitz came from Rochester, Minn.. Thursday after spending the weekend here with relatives.
