Mr. and Mrs. Henry Piller were visiting friends in the Lynch ar ea Monday. Mary Jo Stenger left Saturday afternoon for a two-week vaca tion with relatives at Lindsey. They stayed three days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hasenpflug of Richmond, Calif. Mrs. Hasenpflug remained there for a longer visit while Mr. and Mrs. Compton went on to Gilroy, Calif., to visit the former’s mo ther, Mrs. Mary Compton. While at Gilroy, they also visited Mr. and Mrs. Vern Stewart. They re turned to Richmond to get Mrs. Hasenpflug and stopped enroute home at the Norman Hasenpflug home. An exceptionally good run of hogs for the summer season sold at Monday’s sale with a top of $17.65. Mixed No. 1 and No. 2 grade hogs sold from $17.25 to $17.50. The sow market was especially active with the light smooth sows selling from $15.00 to $16.25. 360 to 400 lb. sows sold from $14.25 to $15.00 while only the real heavy or fat sows sold from $12.50 to $13.50. Nearly 125 good calves sold at Monday’s auction. The light steer calves found plenty of buyers while the demand tor heifer calves was a bit slower.
