    Annual Picnic Held Sunday

the annual picnic Sunday at the
O’Neill tpark. The families attend

ris and Karen, Mr. and Mrs. Lee
Fink and boys, Mr. and Mrs. L.G.
Summers and family and their
grandchildren, Lavonne and Mike
Davis of Norfolk, Mr. and Mrs.
George Wettlaufer and family,
Mrs. Louise Heese and Wayne,
Mr and Mrs. J. W. Finch and
Mr and Mrs. Gordon Harvey.
Also present were Robert Ash
er and Linda Thompson, guests of
Andrea Wettlaufer.

Page Extension club met Tues
day at the home of Mrs. E. H.
Farnsworth. There were eight
members and two guests, Mrs.
Frieda Asher and Carolyn Max,
present. The members answered
roll call by telling “Where we
have been on a trip.” Mrs. R. D.
Copes had the lesson on “Ne
braska”. A get well card was
signed for Mrs. Christina Schacht
and Mrs. Dan Troshynski.

and children were Sunday din
ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Keith
Kennedy.
Mr. and Mrs. Soren Sorensen
sr., Page, Mr. and Mrs Robert
Sorensen and baby of Omaha
were Thursday to Sunday guests
at Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Connery
at Chadron. Mrs. Connery is the
sister of Robert. While at Chad
ron 9oren sr. celebrated his birth
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Finch
sr. were Saturday evening guests
of Mrs. Alta Finch.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Finch
jr. and Randy were Saturday
evening Supper guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Marcus Dwinnell at Verdi
gre.
Robert Emory of Royal and
Alice Sonnichson of Niobrara were
Sunday dinner and supper guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Finch
jr.
The ' Nifty Needlers 4-H club
met at the home of Jolene Grass
June 21. Roll call was answered
by telling a good table manner.
There were two guests, Lavonne
Davis, Norfolk, and Rhonda Han
sen, Carroll. A demonstration of
fruit cups was given by Laurie
and Roberta Scheinost. The Be
ginning Meal Planning girls made
plans for the next two weeks
work, and they are supposed to
make western sandwiches and
fruit salad for the next meeting.
The Cakes and Pies girls made
different kinds of frosting and
frosted cupcakes and a cake. The
Let’s Sew girls planned a dem
onstration. The Skirt and Blouse
girls looked at collars and their
skirts. The Lounging and Sleep
ing girls put a sleeve in a dust
er and did their own handwork.
Andrea Wettlaufer had games.

an for music. Mrs. Art Grass
served a lunch. The next meet
ing will be at the home of Con
nie Summers July 5. Janice Heiss
will have games There will be a

Mrs. Sidney Faulhaber was hos
tess to nine members and one
guest, Mrs. Harold Howerter of
Guymon, Okla., when the Help
U-Club met with her for a noon
day luncheon Wednesday. The
women did needle work for the
hostess. Mrs. Howerter won the
door prize. The club will meet
next with Mrs. Francis Boelter.
RNA lodge met Wednesday
night at the IOOF hall with 11
members there. Hostesses for the
evening were Mrs. Robert Gray
and Mrs. Cordes Walker.
Mrs. Ethel Park entertained
the members of the SOS club
when they met with her Friday
night for an. evening of card
playing. Mrs. Frieda Asher won
the “mystery” prize.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Asher and
girls were Friday evening cal
lers of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ken
nedy.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Asher and
children were Sunday dinner
guests of Mrs. Frieda Asher. In
the afternoon they all visited in
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Asher. On returning home Mrs.
F. Asher found her daughter,
Mis. Herbert Kemper and fam
ily waiting for her.
Mrs. Ethel Waring and Mrs.
Alta Finch accompanied Mrs. J.
W. Finch last Tuesday afternoon
to a shower for Willis Waring
at the home of Mrs. Albert Boel
ter. The women returned home
with Airs. J. W. Finch and re
mained for supper.
Donnelle Hartigan is on her
second week of vacation with her
father, Paul Hartigan in Waver
ly, la.
Mr. and Airs. J. W. Jackson,
Janie and Fred of Seattle spent
from Friday to Monday visiting
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. D.
Ickes.
NOK club met Thursday with
Mrs. Ben Asher. There were 10
members and 2 guests, Mrs. H.
Eilminsten and Mrs. Frieda
Asher, present. The women
spent the afternoon in visiting.

Get-To-Gether club met Friday
with Mrs. Celia Terrill. There
were 12 members and 2 guests
Mrs. Otto Terrill and Mrs. John
Sorensen, present. Some of the
members continued working on
their quilt. They discussed a pic
nic but no date was set. Mrs.
Vernon Beckwith will be the next
hostess.
Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Waller of
O’Neill were Sunday supper
guests of Mrs. Leila Snell.
Mr and Mrs. Philip Bennett
and children of Sidney were
Thursday to Saturday guests of
his sister, Mrs. Fusselman and
family.
On Saturday a coffee hour
was held in honor of Mrs. Nor
man Trowbridge’s birthday.

where they were met by Mr. and
Mrs. A. M. Inness, Mr. and Mrs.
Dale Inness and family, all of
Meadow Grove, and Mr. and Mrs.
Boyd Bennett and family, Tilden,
for a family reunion.

O’Neill, Mrs. Kenneth Braddock

and Kim of Valentine were week

Harmon. On Sunday for dinner
besides the Hookstrongs were Mr.

ren of Venus.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Prill and

at Rock Falls and enjoyed a pks

visit Lorenz’s daughter, Connie.

at Pioneer park in Lincoln. Mr.
and Mrs. Bob Barnes of Lincoln

Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Finch vis
ited Tuesday night with Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Finch sr. and their
house guests, Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Howerter of Guymon, Okla., who
were visiting here from Saturday
to Thursday.

and children, Georgia of Grand
Island and Paul Neubauer were
Sunday evening guests of Mr. and
Mrs. N. D. Ickes.
On Monday Mr. and Mrs. J. R.
Paul of Loveland, la., who are
houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. Guy
Beckwith, visited in the home of
her cousin, Mrs. N. D. Ickes. In
the evening the Ickes and the
Paluls were guests in the Floyd
Whittaker home in Chambers.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Finch
sr were picnic supper guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Art Sufficool of
Verdigre in honor of Art’s birth
day Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Orville Olson of
Oakland arrived here Sunday to
spend a week visiting their son
in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Merwyn French jr., and
bring back two of the French
children, Stephanie and Julieanne,
who had been visiting their
grandparents.
Mr. and Mrs. “Bud” Ickes
named their new baby Lee Wen
dell.
On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Tom
Tyrell of Cheyenne, Wyo., were
dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Merwyn French jr. Mrs. Tyrrell
and Mrs. French hadn’t seen each
other since their freshmen year
in college in 1948.
Ten families were represented
when the members of the Chatter
Sew held the annual picnic at the
Page park Sunday evening.
Mrs. George Wettlaufer and
Mrs. Roger Bowen called on Mrs.
Stella Rtussell Thursday.
The Rev. Robert Linder left
Sunday to attend the Perkins
School of Theology on the South
ern Methodist campus in Dallas,
Tex. The course is on town and
country. He will be gone three
weeks. Mrs. Linder and Dick re
mained here.
Mr. and Mrs. David Bussell of
Portland, Ore., and Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Miller of Ewing are
here visiting relatives, Elmer and
Dick Trowbridges, Mrs. Jessie
Cronk and the Earl Stevens.
Mrs. Gene Mudloff attended a]
beautician meeting Sunday and.
Monday at the Madison hotel in
Norfolk.

Irene Ruzicka is visiting at the
home of her brother and sister
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Ru
zicka, until the first of the month
when she will leave for Ord to
start her Home Extension agent's
training.
Pauline Walston of Redfield,
S. D., was a recent visitor in the
home of Mrs. Winnie Barger. She
was enroute to Chadron on busi
ness in connection with the Com
munity Concert.
Dr. and Mrs. Harry Gilder
sleeve and family have returned
to their home after a three-week
visit in California and other
states. In California they visited
his mother, Mrs. Violet Gilder
sleeve, at Los Angeles, and with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
Meehan in Hawthorne.
Mr. and Mrs. Garland Schoen
rock and family have completed
a three-week vacation trip in Yo
semite Park, Calif and with her
