Pierre, who have been called home due to the serious illness of their father, J. P. Hausmann at the Lynch hospital. Burial was at Elmwood Thursday. They were not able to attend the funeral as Mrs. Fryrear recently had eye surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith attended the funeral. Mrs. Smith is also a sister of Mrs. Bornemeier. A shower for Donna Winings will be held Friday evening at the Mohr schoolhouse instead of the annex in Amelia, as stated in last week’s items. Mrs. Vem Sageser, Mrs. Link Sageser and Mrs. Clyde Widman attended the shower for Doreen Gleed Saturday evening at Cham bers. Mr. and Mrs. J. Curran and Ardell of O’Neill visited Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Delia Ernst. They also called on the Edgar Petersons later in the afternoon. The Amelia Progressive club met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Bernard Blackmore. The lesson was on preparing quick meals. Mrs. Glenn White and Mrs. M. H. Madsen prepared and demonstrated the meal, and the finished products were served at a 1:30 luncheon. The leades then presented the remaining part of the lesson and for afternoon lunch prepared a quick dessert. This was the last meeting until fall, when it will meet with Mrs. Mad sen. Mrs. Vem Sageser, Mrs. Link Sageser and Mrs. Ralph Rees went to Hastings Thursday where Mrs. Link Sageser consulted an eye specialist. Following the judging of the hostess’ floral ar rangement, lunch was served. The place of the next meeting will be announced at a later date.
