The evening was spent playing baseball and indoor games followed by a brief devo tional period. Mr. Fricke was presented a gift. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Dobias entertained at a Sunday dinner in honor of their son, Calvin, who was two years old, and Nat alie Dobias, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Dobias who was one year old; also for the birth days of James Dobias sr. and Jer ry Dobias, all of Atkinson. At tending were Mr. and Mrs. James Dobias sr. and Jerry, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Dobias and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyer and daughter, Beverly, and Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Anderson. Mrs. Natchel Rzeszotarski at tended the EVRN club meeting Thursday. Mrs. Pete Farewell was hostess. Natchel Rzeszotarski helped Fe lix Laible work cattle Friday. Beverly Meyer spent Saturday night with Ruth Evans. Ruth stay ed Friday night with Beverly. Mrs. Bertha Gonderinger was a guest Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Natchel Rzes aotarski and family. Mr. and Mrs. Juhn Schwindt and family visited at the John Sichen eder home Wednesday evening. Rudolph Ruda of Bristow vis ited at the Hans Lauridsen home Friday. Mr. and Mis. Johnny House is staying at the Robert Hendricks home and helping Robert attend to chores while Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hen dricks are on vacation. Clair Beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Beck, returned home Sun day after spending a week visit ing at the LeRoy Hoffman home. Roger accompanied Clair home to help drive cattle to pasture this week. Mrs. Hoffman and Roger, Mrs. Beryl Beck and daughters, Nancy and Julienne, and Mrs. James Beck of Atkin son were Norfolk visitors Thurs day. Mrs LeRoy Hoffman attended the public concession of the cat echumens Friday evening at the St. Johnson’s Lutheran church in Atkinson. Two of Mrs. Hoffman's pupils, Dorothy and Mary Poess necker, were among the 10 that were confirmed Sunday. David Frickel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Frickel was confirm ed Sunday at the Immanual Lu theran church in Atkinson. The Rev. A. S. Gedwillo officiated. Mrs. Victor Frickel and Vicki went to Bassett Monday afternoon where they met Mrs. Frickel’s sister, Mrs. Jerry Henderson of Valentine. Vicki accompanied her aunt home to spend two weeks with her. The Women’s Society of the Im manuel Lutheran church met Tuesday evening at the church with six members attending. Mrs. Beryl Beck was hostess. Roll call was answered with a “Poeti cal Book of the Bible.” The so ciety voted to send cookies to youths attending college and to serve lunch for the Daily Bible school which is scheduled to start May 31. The lesson “Gold for God” was presented by the Rev. A. S. Gedwillo of O’Neill. Mrs. Ro bert Linder installed the new of ficers and presented a key to each new officer. Mrs. Edgar and Mrs. Marvin Stauffer, two of the officers, were not able to be installed as they both were patients in the hospital. The busi ness meeting was held with Mrs. J. W. Finch presiding. It was an nounced that an officers training workshop will be held at Clear water Tuesday afternoon. Hering Mrs. Hering Wins Trophy At the banquet given by the Bowlettes League of Plainview May 17 at Jensen’s cafe, Zola Hering of Royal was awarded a trophy for high series for the season. Mrs. Hering also won first place in singles tournament with a 549 series including handi cap. Mrs. Hering and Wilma Statler of Royal won second place in doubles tournament with a 970 series including handicap. Mrs. Hering and Mrs. Statler are members of the Brunswick Beauty Salon team which tied for second place in the tourna ment recently held in Plainview. Jeri Southern telephoned her parents in Royal Thursday to state that she is booked in Den ver for two and one-half weeks,) and will go from there to San Francisco for two weeks before appearing in New York where she is hooked for a month with option of a second four weeks. The tiling for the new school auditorium will be laid during the summer, according to plans of the board of educat ion. This will be welcomed by the basketball boys who are eager to practice on the new floor which will contain the re quired markings for the game. Bible school at Royal is to be held from May 22 to 26, inclusive. Among the Royal folks who at tended the pre-nuptia] shower at Orchard for Shirley Jacobsen were Mmes. Edna Johnston, T. R.
