Announcement lias been made of the engagement of Miss Mar deb- Johnson and Ktrry Combs, students at the Kastman School of Music in Rochester, N. Y. Miss Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Evans of Nor folk, formerly of O'Neill is a member of Mu I'iii K[>siIoii Honorary Music sorority. Mr. Combs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Combs of Charleston, West Virginia is a member of I’hi Mu Alpha Honorary Music fra ternity. The couple plans an August wedding. Daughters Hold Pot Luck Supper Eighty members and guests were present when Court St. Michael Catholic Daughters held their annual pot luck supper, re ception and installation Tuesday evening. Mrs. Jerome Spittler was chair man of the supper. New members are Mesdames James Cavanaugh, John Havelka, Agnes Halva, Ju lia Fleming, Joe Peter, Bessie Vavak, Charles Kalina jr., and Ed Dziowgo. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fox went to Lincoln April 27 to visit Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Fox and view the ROTC parade in which Gor don was wing commander of his wing. From there the Foxes drove to Omaha to visit Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Fox and son Dougie. Has Surgery Lloyd Gallagher of O’Neill un derwent surgery Saturday at Ro chester. He is reported to be im proving satisfactorily. Project Club Meets Members of the Elkhorn pro ject club met at the home of Mrs. Ray Lawrence Tuesday evening for a covered dish dinner. The lesson, “Easy Meals’’ was given by Mrs. Melvin Rlingler and Mrs Rosa Bowers. At the close of the meeting a miscellaneous shower was given for Miss Ridseanne Schaffer who will be married shortly to Carol Grenier. The near future to Carol Grenier. The next meeting will be a club pic nic June 11. Mrs. Harold Dexter and child ren of Kittery, Me., are visiting in O’Neill with her parents, Mr and Mrs. Ralph Hoffman, anc with his mother, Mrs. Dick Tom linson and Mr. Tomlinson. Plan Menu The Pleasant Brook 4-H clul met at the Alva Parks home Maj 12 at 8 p.m. The meeting wa: started by reciting the 4-H pledge followed by a song. Craig Harvey, Machmist Mate, 3rd class petty officer, U. S. Na vy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harvey of Mission, Kan., is serv ing aboard the Coral Sea Car rier in the Seventh Fleet. Craig has been stationed at At sugi, Japan since September, 19h!>, leaving there the latter part of April for Hong Kong, China and The Philippines where training exercises were being conducted. The carrier was at last report near South Vietnam on alert. He writes his family that because of the intense heat at their present location, they sleep on the wings of aircraft on the flight deck. His mother is the former Doris Kurtz of the O'Neill area. Parlroopers camp. Ft. Camp bell, Ky., is family reunion place for members of the Dick Tomlin son family. Jim Tomlinson was sent there upon his return from Germany and upon his arrival, discovered his brother, Dennis, there. Honored On 93rd Birthday Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fox ac companied by Mr. and Mrs. Ro bert Fox, Atkinson went to Miller Monday to visit at the Hubert Fox home. Mrs. Minnie Hanson of Creigh ton came Thursday (today) to spend a few days with her daughter, Mrs. Hairy Thomsen. The three Extension clubs of Page entertained their members and guests at an Extension Tea at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon. The program, opened with Mrs. Dale Lewis leading the group in singing. Mrs. Dale Stauf fer introduced the leaders of each club. The feature of the after noon was Mrs. Catherine Indra of O’Neill who gave a demonstra tion on cake decorating. It was announced that vacation Bible school will begin at Page May 22. It will be for one week all day sessions beginning at 9 a.in. The program will be May 26. The children are requested to bring sack lunches. One hundred fifty-four took part in the mass band held at Royal Friday evening. It was held in their new auditorium. Thirty-six students attended from Page. The five towns who participated were Clearwater, Inman, Meadow Grove, Royal and Page. During the concert the band presented Mr. Sawyer with two aluminum chairs. The Royal Band Mother’s served lunch. Mrs. Sidney Faulhaber won the door prize when the Help-U-Club met Wednesday with Mrs. George Jeffrey as hostess. A noon day dinner was served for the eleven members and one guest, Mrs. Meraon Chase of Porterville, Calif. The women did embroidery for the hostess. Mrs. Gerald War ing will be the next hostess.
