Ity Mrs. Harold Harris
“He Is Risen" was the theme
of the sermon by Dr. Ross for
the morning worship hour. The
mixed quartet, Mrs. Wayne Fry,
Mrs. Keith Biddlecome, Leo Mil
ler and Ebon Grafft sang a spec
ial number. At the evening ser
vice which included a singspira
tion, Dr. Ross used as his ser
mon theme “Another Three".
The Easter Sunrise service at
6 a.m. was sponsored by the
Youth Group in charge of Mrs.
Dale Napier. The group left the
chjrch for a chosen place east
of Ewing. Due to the rain which
began shortly after their arrival,
they returned to the church to
complete the service. Breakfast
was served by Mrs. Napier and
Ina Bennett in the annex. Guests
were members of the senior
Methodist Youth Fellowship, Ber
tha Harris, Marie Davis, Sandra
Elliott, Karen Woeppel, Florence
(Black, Leonora Tuttle and Betty
Wright.
Other events for the week at
the United Presbyterian church
are: Junior Youth meeting for
handicraft Monday evening in
charge of Mrs. Ralph Shrader,
leader; Wednesday evening, pray
er ;ind study. Book of Esther,
Chapter 9; Friday evening, the
Forum made up of a group of
young married couples and their
families; April 8, the 25th wed
ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Shrader will be observed.
A cordial invitation is extended
to their friends and relatives to
attend by the committee in
charge.
Larry Rotherham, who has
spent a part of the Easter vaca
tion with his parents, returned to
Omaha Monday. Sandra Jones
and Gen Kantak, also Creighton
students, were overnight guests
Wednesday at the Rotherham
home.
Sp. 5 Hiram Harris of Dallas,
Tex., spent a few days at the
home of Mrs. Helen Sisson vis
iting her son, Sp. 5 Gene Sis
son. On Thursday both boys left
for Camp Carson , Colorado
where they will Ik* stationed.

The Ewing Methodist church
was well filled for the Easter
Sunday services. Among the con
gregation were many out-of-town
visitors. The altar was decorated
with plants of various kinds in
full bloom.
The twenty voice choir com
posed of the junior and senior
choir members sang two special
numbers under direction of Mrs.
W. W. Elliott. The Rev. W. W.
Elliott, who conducted services
each night of Holy Week, con
cluded his sermons for the Eas
ter season with the theme “The
Great Discovery”. Others partici
pating in the service were Bar
bara Schilousky and Evelyn True
as candlelighters; organists, John
A. Wood and Sandra Elliott. Ush
ers were Clayton Hoke and Dale
Hubei and receptionists, Mrs.
John A. Wood and Vina Wcjod.
St. Peter’s church observed
Holy Week with special services
throughout the week. Easter Sun
day found the church filled to
capacity for both masses. The
Rev. P. F. Burke was in charge
of the services.
Saturday evening dinner guests
at the J. L. Pruden home were
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Pruden and son
of Page and Mr. and Mrs. Ev
erett Munphy and daughter of
Omaha, who remained at the
Pruden home for the weekend.

were hosts at a family dinner
