Mrs. Lichty’s birthday oc curs on Valentine Day and her son, Dr. Gordon Shupe of Wayne, has a birthday on February 15, so Mrs. Lichty planned to ob serve the days on Sunday and in vited her family home. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jeil licka and children of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rasmussen of Columbus, Dr. and Mrs. Shupe and children of Wayne; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Mansike of Pierce; Mrs. Laura O'Brien of Norfolk, Ray Morgan of Norfolk and Mrs. Edna Johnston of Royal. The 14th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Holm was observed Sunday at their home when they were surprise dinner guests of parents of both Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dobbs and Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Holm, and Mr. and Mrs. Hans Hofer and children. The dinner also com plimented the birthdays of Har old Holm and Mrs. Hofer. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Billings of Neligh were Wednesday afternoon visitors at R. J. Herings. Word was received here Friday of the sudden death of Paul Rabr, farmer and longtime resident of the Pleasant Valley community, while visiting his brothers, Au gust and William at Wisnor. A brother, Ernest, of Mndison, and a brother, Frank, in Missouri, and a sister are among the sur viving relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Burch were in Norfolk over Sunday to eat dinner with their granddaugh ter, Sandra Fryer, on the occa sion of her 18th birthday. Sandra, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Lau rene Fryer, is a senior in the Norfolk school. She plans to go to California when school closes, to attend college at Palo Alto where her uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Burch are located. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Burch have been informed that their son, Norman, a captain in the Palo Alto Fire Department, lias boon granted a ten weeks leave of absence to lake a course In atomic radiation at Stanford University Mr. and Mrs. R.
