just returned from the Congo
and talked of life there. Mrs.
Frank Beelaert reported on the
youth projects. It was announced
that the general meeting of the
WSCS and the King's Daughters
will meet Tuesday evening with
the latter group as host. Mrs.
Merwyn French sr. had the les
son and devotion. Get well cards
were sent to Cliff Leach, Mrs.
Richard Heiss and Harrison Hall
man. An executive meeting was
held also and plans were made
for the following quarter. Next
executive meeting will be April
24.
Mr. and Mrs. Everet Cooke of
Springfield, Ore., stopped at the
P. E. Nissen home one day last
week.

the girls to their new home.

A farewell card party was held
at district 55 for Mr. and Mrs.
Duane Sukup. Cards were played
with prizes going to Mrs. Ed
ward Sukup of Orchard, Lee Fink,
Gerhardt Luebcke and Duane
Sukup. The guests presented
gifts to the Sukups.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Matsehul
lat received word that their
brother-in-law and sister, Mr.
and Mrs. Elmer Dunkenbrick
and family, were involved in
a car accident In Clay Center,
Kans., which took the life of
their six year old girl. The ot
hers are in serious condition in
the hospital.
Mrs. Emma Kemper returned
home Sunday from a throe-week
vacation visiting relatives. She
spent two weeks in Omaha in
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Callahan and family. She took
care of their little girl while
Mrs. Callahan underwent surgery.
She spent the last week visiting
Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Luddington
in Grand Island. While in Omaha
she visited her son-in-law, George
Winkler, of O’Neill, a patient in a
hospital there.
Viola Haynes of Hastifljgs was
here visiting her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Allan Haynes, over the
weekend.
Mrs. Jessie Kelly accompanied
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Stauffer to
Wisner Friday where she spent
the weekend visiting the Tommy
Kellys. Tlhe Stauffers attends
funeral services at Wisner for
Arthur Leisy. Mr. Kelly went Sun
day to get his wife and. enroute
home they visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Cyril Hansen of Carroll.
Mr. and Mrs. Merwyn French
sr. went to Omaha Friday and
joined a group on a chartered
bus for Memphis, Tenn., to at
tend the National Soil and Water
Conservation meetiug. They ex
pect to he gone 10 days.
Mr, and Mrs. Larry Park of
Long Pine will move to Albion
this week where be has employ
ment there with the National
Food store. He will start work
February l3. Larry is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Owen Park of Page.
