The Jolly Workers 4-H club
held the monthly meeting at
the home of Sharon Gaylor
Thursday evening. I toll call was
answered with, “What we re
ceived for Christmas.” Our
leader gave back record books
from last year’s projects. Roll
call for the next meeting in
February at the home of Judy
Kaup will be a report on some
thing Lincoln or Washington did
in their lifetime. After the
meeting the group watched
television and then lunch was
served.
Mr. and Mrs. William Wefso
were Sunday evening callers at
the A. J. Runnels home in Stuart.
Mrs. L. G. Fleming has been
confined to her home for several
days with influenza.

Jeanette Harper, daughter of
! Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Harper of
Oklahoma City, Okla., whose
picture appeared in the Sunday
[ World Herald, is one of the five
finalists in the Queen of Hearts
contest. Miss Harper, who is a
senior at St. Mary’s in Omaha,
is the graddaughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Harper of Page. The
Harpers are well known in O’
Neill and Page.
The Mariners of the Presby
terian church in O’Neill which in
clude Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harmon
of Page attended the movie "Ben
Hur’’ in Neligh Sunday evening.
They went to the Harmon home
afterwards for lunch. Mr. and
Mrs. Keith Kennedy and Rodney
Kennedy were guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Albright
of Lincoln were here over the
weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs.
Harley Kennedy and other friends
and relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. N. D. Ickes and
Dennis were Sunday dinner guests

Friday night. Among those who
played were Jerry Collyer, Ron
Park, Darrell and Larry Hciss,
Marlin Frahm, Larry Roach,
Dick and Dennis Cork, Harold
Heese and Lyle Heiss.
Bid or Bye Bridge club met
Wednesday with Mrs. Calvin Har
vey. Honors went to Mrs. Harold
Asher. The next meeting will be
a “pay off” party at the home of
Mrs. Cordes Walker. The losers
will entertain the winners starting
with a one o’clock luncheon.
Mr. and Mrs. Duane Sukup re
turned home last Monday night
after spending the weekend at
Lincoln, visiting Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Russell. On Monday the
Sjkups spent the day in Council
Bluffs on business.
The class of the seventh and
eighth grades of the Page school
and Roberta Asher and Linda
Thompson were invited to a par
ty at the home of Jean Nissen
Friday night. The occasion was a
farewell party for Linda Asher.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Asher
and family were Friday night
supper guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Arnold Tikalsky.
Get Together club met Friday
with 11 members present for a
noon day dinner with Mrs. Ro
bert Haryey, Mrs. Bernard Kor
nock will be the next hostess and

club when it met with her Thurs
day. The women present enjoyed
an afternoon of visiting and sew

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hansen and
family left Thursday morning
for their new home in Omaha.
Accompanying them was Mrs.
Edd Stewart who had a doc
tor’s appointment. She remain
ed as an overnight guest of the
Hansens and returned Friday
night with Mrs. Tony Mudloff
and Mrs. Marvin Prokop. Mrs.
Mudloff had been in Omaha
staying with her daughter, Mrs.
Prokop and helping her pack
as the Prokops are moving to
Alliance.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Asher en
tertained the following Sunday
night for supper: Messrs and
Mmes. George Wettlaufer, Will
iam Sorensen, Harold Asher, Don
Nissen, Kenneth Asher, Calvin
Harvey and Ben Asher, Cards
were played with Kenneth Asher,
Mrs. Don Nissen, Don Nissen and
Mrs. Kenneth Asher winning pri
zes.
Kay, daughter of Mr. ad Mrs.
Robert Nissen, was home for the
weekend from Wayne college.
Mrs. Gene Mudloff and Edd
Stewart went to Grand Island
Thursday night to meet Larry
Mudloff, who was enroute home
from Regis college in Colorado.
Mrs. Elmer Trowbridge went
to Norfolk Wednesday to visit her
daughter, Mrs. Lewis Copple un
til Friday. On Wednesday night
Mrs. Trowbridge accompanied
her to a mother and daughter
banquet at the Methodist church
in Norfolk.

Diego to meet their son, Loren,
who had spent seven months
in Japan. Loren is in the Navy.

be gone three weeks.
