The recent passage of the Industrial Development Amend ment . . . increased promotional activities on every hand, from the state level right down through the smallest com munities ... all underscore Nebraska’s determination to balance its agricultural economy with an expanded indus trial economy. Latest evidence of this determination is Consumers Pub lic Power District’s announcement of a comprehensive community and industrial development program. Cooper ating with state, federal and local agencies, Consumers is aiming at four objectives: 1. To improve the economic position of existing businesses. 2. To assist in establishing new industries by local residents. 3. To persuade out-of-state industries to locate in Nebraska. A. To help communities plan for future use of the Industrial Development Amendment. Meanwhile, a long range view must be taken in thinking about industrial development.
