Old Christmas Trees
Make Good Bird Feeder
Why not use your old Christ
mas trees as bird feeding stands?
This suggestion has been made
by County Agent Neal Dawes. He
points out that the trees make
wonderful places to tie bits of
sue$, bread and dry fruits as food
for birds. Finding food is always
a problem when snow covers the
ground.
Mr. Dawes also warns residents
that most Christmas trees have
become dry by this time and are
serious fire hazards. He urges
that the trees be burned if the
needles have started to drop. A
better suggestion, though, is to
prop the tree against something
or stick it in the ground as a bird
feeder.
